I was going thru the ds 230 example because 260 doesn't open on my phone :P so a few qs asking beforehand.

1) I changed my name after getting married so the old name would come under other names used?

2) if I don't want the card mailed to my address I tick no in that and then collect it manually?

3) they are asking for educational institutions so I Pakistan we have school uptil 10th grade then college till 12th and then university. So what will be the difference in course of study and diploma?

P.s. Last qs might sound real stupid but I was confused :P thanks ;)

I hope no one gets AP and I feel for all of those that are separated, no matter how long, but there is a reason for it. National Security takes precedence and much has changed since 9/11. That is not an answer that anyone wants to hear, but it is the truth. Countries with known terrorist ties, or organizations within, will get greater scrutiny. I would guess that Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Syria and some others for example. I know we all want to be with our spouses, but as an American citizen I understand and appreciate this...even if it is an inconvenience.

Last year DoS provided 473,115 visas. That is about 39,425 a month, or about 1,892 a day (260 working days, minus 10 for holidays). We are only seeing a smidgen of that on this board.

Have you ever had somebody come to you at your job and say? "Hey, I need you to do this! it should only take you a few hours". You look at the task and ask them "are you insane? a few hours?" It's not as easy as some make it out to be. Sure it could improve, but I am sure it is not as easy as some believe. Nothing is perfect here in the US, and that includes CIS and DoS, but there are a lot of positive things that do work...albeit sometimes slowly. We all need to vent and rant, I do it myself, but try to see the positive things that are working as well as try to breathe a little.

Just my two cents...

I understand what you are saying but to me this is called discrimination. Any one from any country can have something to do with terrorism if they wanted to so if AP was for everyone I would call it FAIR but when it only applies to certain countries,I dont call that being fair its totally discrimination.

Yes but I asked them that and they said they received it on June 10th and there was no need to submit again. But it still worries me to see ds261 status showing incomplete with no iv fee invoice yet :(

Maybe Saylin and other Vjers can help out with this question.

How can u bring the original birth certificate to interview when u already have submitted to Nvc? Only if they don't accept somebody's certificate they ask for certified copy. Otherwise no need. Just take a copy to be on the safe side.

When I filled the DS-261 June 4th I got a confirmation saying its been completed, when I clicked on it the following day to correct an error, it showed incomplete until I submitted again on June 5th, when I called NVC, the rep told me it was completed on their system June 5th. You should call NVC on monday and ask about the status of your DS-261. If its showing incomplete on your profile on CEAC that means its not completed on NVC system. Please correct me if am wrong.

Yes but I asked them that and they said they received it on June 10th and there was no need to submit again. But it still worries me to see ds261 status showing incomplete with no iv fee invoice yet :(

If NVC told you that it shows up as completed then DONT resubmit it. I did the same thing. It shows up as incomplete but shows completed in their system. So i left it as incomplete.

Just call and ask for status on your DS261, if they say it was completed on XXX date then dont complete it again.

This question has probably been asked a million times, for that I apologize.

On the ceac.state website, I've sent in all the packets and filled out the forms online and paid all the fees. My question here is, under Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence it says N/A. Does this ever change? Should I be concerned that it still says N/A? Everything else says either completed, or paid, but under that section and under the DS260 "Civil Documents" section it says N/A. I'm not so concerned about the civil documents one because I only recently sent in the IV packet.

1. I think so.

2. You will not get in person, you will only have to apply in person. It will still arrive in mail.

3. Just fill out the last education institutions you attened, I think they ask from age 16.

Your chances of getting reply would increase a lot by adding your timeline to signature. If I remember correctly, you were way behind me I don't know how are expecting CC in few days.

No not every one face AP, Many don't but chances are just higher in both ISB/KBL compared to other embassies. Since you lived 10 years in Pakistan I think it would be better to go to ISB but that's just my opinion.

Just because your record and case are clean is no guarantee against going into AP. I've been through it twice even though I lived in the US with a clean record for 7 years, been holding one form of non-IV visa or another continuously since 1989, and even joined the US Armed Forces briefly in 1991.

Since your established record is in Pakistan (and I hope it's a clean one) and you have next to none in Afghanistan, then chances are you'll get a shorter AP in Pakistan if you're unfortunate enough to receive one.

Best of luck to you.
