Although actually, thinking about it, it is still less unfair than what USCIS was doing with the random transferring of I-130's... I see people on this forum that already have case complete with NVC even though their initial filing was more than two months after mine, all because they were sent to the CSC while our case went to TSC... and I actually live in California... Oh well, in my husband's country they say "el tiempo de dios es perfecto" which roughly translated means everything happens when it's supposed to... hard to believe but also hard to disprove.

Amanda,

I posted a review under the "Reviews: Embassy" area. Take a look!

Sukie

Hi Sukie,

Great review.

Did they let you and Julie bring water bottles up?

And you said it only took 2 days to receive Julie's passport back? -- Did that also include her IV papers for POE?

Thanks!

Hi everyone , so thought I'd check the ceac website and now my aos application and fee say n/a instead of paid and complete. Anytime I call recently I'm advised that the aos has been Accepted /approved only waiting on review of civil documents. Should I be concerned that fee and aos package show n/a now?

When were your civil documents scanned in? Usually that means Case Complete! :goofy:

hi everyone, my checklist was sent off earlier this week. I'm waiting for the doc review from IV docs scan date of Jun 17th, imagine it's going to be at least 2 weeks. I'm going to take a couple of weeks off the forums until they have been reviewed. Want to wish you all the luck in the world, especially those waiting case complete. Stay strong people! p1003.gif

Thank you sweet heart you have been so much help to so many. Rest regroup but you will be missed for the time you

My AoS packet is finally ready to be sent out! I can do it today but my AoS fee still says in process and on my bank's website when I log in, it says pending as of yesterday. I paid it 3 days ago. Do you think that it will be safe to just send it out today? It would probably arrive Monday or Tuesday. I want to save time but is it risky since by the time the receive the files, the payment status still may be in process?

If your bank is showing the payment, I'd say you are good to go.

It shows it on list of transactions on my checking account but it still says pending next to the transaction, though the amount has already been deducted from my current available balance. Do you still think it is OK?

I also have a non-related question. My joint sponsor had previously listed his employer as

"company name, store #, name of mall store is in" but I told him to delete the name of the mall because it is not listed that way on his documents that show proof of employment. However, he forgot to delete the extra comma after the store number when he re-printed the form. If I leave it as is, is NVC going to checklist us? Do you think I should hand-write something after the comma that matches the document to save face? Will they be suspicious if half the field is typed and half is hand written? Asking him to send it again will delay us another 4-5 days....

What time did you call NVC last night and talk to Gus? I called NVC last night and talked to Gus about the IV fee too!

He sounded kind of annoyed! I thought he was one of the few good men left at NVC!? :wow:

Maybe it's because he has to repeat the 30 business days thing over and over? Well, it's their fault that it's taking forever to pay the IV fee, not ours!

:ranting: You have 30 business days to take that back! :P

I know your feeling. My husband lives in California as well, but it took 7months for NOA2. People who got NOA2 very quieckly are so lucky, but it makes NVC busy I think. We are so unlucky.. Life is not fair sometimes. That's true:(

will it be good to take my wife ( petitioner) to the embassy with me during the interview?? i know its not required, em jst asking? if it have positive effect on my interview......

Yes it is positive even if she can't go inside the Embassy if she can't go in take her passport with you and ticket to prove she is with you. I'm assuming she will fly in to be with you. But some Embassies don't allow the spouse to be inside with the beneficiary. Hope I didn't confuse you.

So, not only are the training wheels coming off, but I just found out yesterday that since I'm taking independent phone calls now and will begin independent on-call nights and weekends that I get a $1 bump in my hourly wage, so woohoo! I wasn't told this at all when I started  So, got a nice little surprise :) Granted, it's only an extra $40 a week (minus taxes of course  ), but whatever, I'll take it. I'll be that much closer to paying off my Disney and DC trip!

There you go! It might be just a little extra cash for now but the main point is that your management is treating you like a more established member of their staff and starting to invest more on you. There is a such a high turnover rate in the logistics industry that companies certainly appreciate when they see a promising new employee. So congrats Saylin! Enjoy DC and Disney!

It shows it on list of transactions on my checking account but it still says pending next to the transaction, though the amount has already been deducted from my current available balance. Do you still think it is OK?

I also have a non-related question. My joint sponsor had previously listed his employer as

Asking him to send it again will delay us another 4-5 days....

I would go for it and send it. By the time they get to scan your packet, payment would already be fully accepted. As far as the comma, I don't think it's a big deal. The name of the company in his documents will match what he put in the I-864. Or maybe you can use a black pen and turn the comma into a period.

Good luck!

Hi Sukie,

Great review.

Did they let you and Julie bring water bottles up?

And you said it only took 2 days to receive Julie's passport back? -- Did that also include her IV papers for POE?

Thanks!

We did not attempt to bring water bottles up, but I saw others with bottles (including a LOT of mothers with little ones!). We were upstairs only ONE HOUR - we didn't even start to panic about having no restroom!

By the way...when you get to the 10th floor in the MLC, PCOZ, you'll have to walk all the way around the floor (it's kind of in a big circle). Close to the Consulate's doors are a couple of chairs. By these chairs are a flight of stairs that go down one floor. There are restrooms at the bottom of the stairs. It really wasn't bad. We arrived at 8:30 for our 9:00 appointment, but they would not let us go through security until 8:45. I think having the earlier interview slots is better from a crown perspective. There were a lot of American Citizens coming through needing new passports or notary services.

Yes, it only took two days to get the passport and the "DO NOT OPEN" envelope back. Earlier, we had thought we would be interviewing in early June (before NVC screwed up our file). We had flights out on July 7th originally. Then we got our interview for July 1st. I was too nervous about trying to fly out on July 7th, because it would have meant her passport would have had to arrive by July 4th. (No mail delivery on weekends in Australia).

So we changed our flights to the 15th of July. And...we could have used our original tickets! Luckily, there was no change penalty....
