My joint sponsor input income from 1040 tax (his and spouse's income) in I864, I heard that his spouse also need to fill in I864A in this case, right? If only he is joint sponsor, he has to input income in W2 tax. Can anyone help me?

The i864A is required if you need the co-sponsor's spouses income ALSO. If not you just need a letter/W2's from your sponsor to show their part of the 1040 joint income that is shown on the tax return - Well this is what we did

I believe this is incorrect. They will not review documents until the IV fees are paid according to several customer service reps. Some have even said that they begin reviewing them after receipt of DS260. If what you are saying was correct, he would have had a case complete by now as it has almost been 30 days since he sent his IV package

Remember it is 30 BUSINESS days, and they are taking that long for certain stages now!

Not sure if you followed the original post. A member stated he had already sent in his IV package prior to even being invoiced. Where are you getting the 30 days from when he hasn't even been invoiced?

They will NOT review packages unless/until the IV processing fees have been made and additionally the 30 business days might actually start after receipt of DS-260. I don't know for sure. Maybe Saylin can comment here.

I am not correcting your comment about the process, you are correct and you need to make the payment first. I was letting whomever mentioned about waiting 30 days that it is 30 business days as previously it has been that they are saying 30 business days an it turns out to be 30 days (total), however now it seems that 30 business days means 30 business days...

Ultimately it will be 30 BUSINESS days from when the fee is paid, i cannot see them accepting the packet before the fee is paid

Do you know if the 30days start from the day the invoice is paid or if it starts from the day the DS260 is submitted?

If it starts from the day the invoice is submitted, then it does indeed make sense to send the IV documents ahead of time (not advisable since they may lose your documents).

I have no idea, however i cannot see them accepting a packet before the fee is paid then when the fee is paid reviewing the packet - its like skipping the que.... however this is the NVC ... i would just follow the process ...

Good morning Saylin,

I have called NVC this morning and they told that they do have 2 packets in review for me. The first one is my supporting doc for the IV application scanned on may 30 and the second the response to the AOS checklist scanned june 26th. He told me that a checklist is coming my way for a marriages certificate but he insisted that it does not mean that the marriage certificate is not in the IV scanned on the 30th. How that can be generated if they did not review the packet scanned on the 30th. I just want to be proactive because i send the certified copy of the marriage certification and the translation.

Can you please guide me if possible.

Thanks

So then there really isn't a difference then right? Some who have done EP say they wish they had done snail mail, as fif it would have gone faster. What are the pros and cons to snail mail vs. EP? Hope I'm not asking too many questions :s

I did EP and if you look at my signature, it takes longer than snail mail. One good thing happened to me though, I had a missing document that my stupid paralegal forgot to scanned and I thought will take another 30 days to be review( It didn't happened, they reviewed it right away).

1.The cons of doing EP is you can't find any information from the agents, they have no access to EP, they will not tell you when your case is review and what is the latest date they are working on. You can't either follow others because most of the time people do snail mail.

2.The Pros are , you don't have to send your original documents and pay delivery fees. As far I am concerned if you have a checklist, you can send right away your checklist and it doesn't take long for them to review it ( as per my experience, I don't know about other cases).

At this point is your choice, good luck in your journey! :luv:

Maybe one more note: now you don't have to send EP enrollment and wait for their email response. This is going to save you a month, also they don't send any more auto-replay and it could be stressful thinking what if they didn't receive your email.

Oh no...not good to hear...I did call NVC last night, talked to Gus, and he said 30 BUSINESS days...hoping that is only a deterrent but I guess we won't know until we actually get the IV invoice available.... :(

What time did you call NVC last night and talk to Gus? I called NVC last night and talked to Gus about the IV fee too!

He sounded kind of annoyed! I thought he was one of the few good men left at NVC!? :wow:

Maybe it's because he has to repeat the 30 business days thing over and over? Well, it's their fault that it's taking forever to pay the IV fee, not ours!

I just talked to Supervisor Sylvia regarding the IV fee invoice. I found her nice. :)

However, she told me she couldn't unlock the IV fee invoice for me because the system doesn't allow her to do so. :dead:

I've talked to three different Supervisors (Octavio, Ike, and Sylvia), and they all were all unable to help me on this issue. :(

It looks like I'm beating a dead horse on this issue. So I'll need to wait a little longer. :bonk:

Bad news: I'll have more time to enjoy the summer in Canada.

Good news: It's not winter here. :star:
