Hi All,

My apologies if this has already been addressed (I tried to read through everything!), but I have a question regarding the I-84 Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment. I lived abroad last year so had foreign income, but still filed taxes here in the US. I'm looking through my tax transcript and have no idea what number to enter for 2013 total income. I've read on here that this is where people are getting checklists, so don't want to mess this up. I have a value for Icome - Wages, Salaries, Tips, etc, which is the same value as Foreign Income Exclusion Amount. Is this the number I should enter on the I-864?

Thanks in advance!

What did you file? A 1040? 1040EZ?

1040 - status: Married filing separate

Then you enter your total income form 1040, line 22. Enter the number exactly as it appears on your tax transcript.

OK thanks, I don't have line numbers on mine (and counting 22 lines down gives me Farm Income), but I do see the line Total Income. This is actually a negative number, is this going to send up flags?

Well, I need to pass the baton to someone else at this point, as I'm not quite sure where to go from here. I doubt it will raise flags, but since the income was earned overseas, I'll assume that's why it's negative (as you did the foreign income exclusion)?

Finally... CC as of July 30th. Scan date was June 13th.

47 days just to leaf through a few pages!!! I'm not a happy camper at all. I didn't feel this infuriated and drained even after a 13-month AP back in 2008.

Congrats! You may still want to join the Aug thread just to hang out with us!

That's correct. Thanks so much for your help, I'll wait to fill it in to see if anyone else has input on this. Gotta love taxes!! ;)

AoS package mailed off yesterday!! I sent it priority mail with a tracking number but no signature required. I held it close to my chest for a few minutes in the car in front of the post office, I took deep breaths and poured good vibes for speedy review and no checklists into it. But, judging from time frames right now I could complete two checklists before the IV package is reviewed.

I am the USC Petitioner. My wonderful wife Laura is from Scotland.

Finally! They really are dragging! Congratulations on your case complete!!! :dancing:

Congrats!!! I do think you're just in time for September interviews, too! :-)

Congrats! You may still want to join the Aug thread just to hang out with us!

Absolutely! Getting to know such wonderful people is the saving grace of this whole business. Thank you all for the thumbs up, above and with the "likes".

And sorry for the melancholic CC announcement. God knows I'm luckier than most on and off this thread. For family based applicants who have submitted most of the required civil docs at the USCIS stage, NVC stage is a 100% frivolous exercise that is putting lives and livelihoods needlessly on hold for many agonizing months.

I'm sure plenty of people have gone through Dublin pre-clearance as their POE without any issues, but for anyone here who might be considering doing so, I'm now submitting my vote against. Not only is my husband's name incorrect in the DHS system, he's down as having a K1 visa. Thanks a bunch, Dublin!

Spoke with NVC rep, IV package scanned in today. Was told the usual 30business days wait for it to be reviewed. {September 11}. I wish and hope it won't take that long to get a case complete. That means we are likely to have interview by November. But who knows.... Might be lucky to get an earlier date....{I wish}
