You have to be close now. This will be my fifth month. At this rate I will look at a December interview.

Am waiting to see what happens on IV this week. Should be looked at soon. All depends on if I get check listed for this silly Police Certificate. Am feeling really down about it all today. I need to get out of this funk.

Fingers crossed no checklist for your police check x I can't remember what was the issue you were worried about, was it the Singapore one?

The one thing keeping me out of my funk is I have 3 friends flying to Melbourne to meet me for a girls weekend tomorrow. I will be distracted for 3 days, so won't have time to obsessively check VisaJourney and ceac.

I too will be joining the August thread and it looks like I'll be around for at least a part of the September thread too... All thanks to whoever misplaced my 2013 tax return along the way (presumably the attorney.)

At the local time in Oz I would suggest a nice chilled cocktail to deal with any case of NVC funk... Followed by a long run in the morning.

I used to live in Melbourne so I know there will be plenty to keep you occupied.

Concern about Singapore Certificate was that Singapore don't do anymore for non-Singapore Citizens. However you can appeal it. We sent the front cover of their website stating they don't do them to NVC. Other issue was IF you do need one you can appeal to Singapore but they would only send direct to NVC and then only do it on a checklist specifically asking for it. Anyway, I called Singapore last week. They have changed rules and now send to our home plus they will process it on the IV Cover Sheet. So .. I have applied but it will take about a month to get here. If I do need it I want to take it to the interview but NVC told me they would want to see it there. #######? With the 30 days to look at I could be looking at a CC in October and a December interview. That is just too depressing.

So AOS received and scanned in last Wednesday. How long do I have to wait to get an invoice for IV and for DS-260 to become available?

Logging in online still shows AOS as N/A. Will this be the case until it is approved?

Thanks for the response, everyone. It's very interesting to hear about people's experiences and different opinions. I think calling at keys points of course might be important, but the idea of calling often or daily just to check up on them still seems suspicious to me. Even though lovemytico made a compelling argument. I am glad for you, lovemytico, if that strategy did help you though. Of course, I suppose it's very hard to compare situations. For me, waiting one extra weekend or even one week between getting a notification and important document sent isn't a big deal, but I know for others it is, especially if they are separated from their spouses. But let's see. I know I'm going against the grain here, but I'm still going to try this method to see the if our case is processed in a reasonable and timely manner without having to call maybe even once? O.o I don't want to offend anyone though, so please know I do appreciate the advice and especially the time Saylin has put into the very helpful and informative forum and wiki. I'll post at the next steps. We have to complete the DS261 and then I have to pay the AOS since we received those notifications yesterday. If we can get a moments peace today (our boys are very rambunctious) we'll take care of it, or at least by Monday, and I'll post again. Cheers!

Im not sure if calling helps..in total we made like 3 calls to NVC..our total time at NVC till case complete was 3 months..what does help is that you do ur homework before hand so that you dont get any checklist...but everyones has different experiance at NVC...

So as promised called NVC at 07:01AM EST and done at 07:04 with everything, case is COMPLETE waiting on an interview now.....can't say how happy we r, hubby is up now too, so not sorry to wake him up early today

Fellow Aussie here. There are quite a few of us in this thread.

Unfortunately NVC are quite back logged at the moment. We waited exactly a calendar month between AOS invoice and IV invoice but I believe some people are waiting longer than that. Still, NVC can be unpredictable sometimes so you may get it sooner.

Sorry that I couldn't give you better news. Take a look at others timelines and this will give you an indication.

So finally AOS shows N/A for my wife's case. Hope it is a case complete. Ripu is calling NVC to confirm. Ours has been a long journey at NVC. My case was completed on June 4th but my wife's case took so long as NVC lost her checklist email reply. Our case is processing electronically.

This was confusing for me too because the way it was discussed here I thought that the ds261 (just like everything else) would be "received" and then "scanned" into the file. I called on Monday to check on my case (even though I knew there would be nothing!) and talked to Kevin who was SO nice! He said that because it's an electronic form it was received immediacy but because it hasn't been reviewed there's nothing in the case about it. It takes "up to 30 business days" to be reviewed and then (according to Kevin) once reviewed and accepted the IV fee is issued a few days later. Another reason it's confusing is the first time I called to check after submitting it the lady I spoke with (not so nice) said "Well obviously it's been received since it's an electronic form, but I don't have it showing in the system yet." So I was afraid it was going to take 30 biz days to just receive it, then 30 biz days to have it reviewed, but that's not what Kevin said. He said the 30 biz days start from when it showed "completed" on the forms page.

I hope he's right! He was so nice and I told him how helpful he was

oh man, this is relief. I hope too that Kevin is right

I kinda got panic attack yesterday, when we got email from NVC about DS-261.
