At least it's one night and you can take the train there. :)

I was there for a week!

That's true. I guess I'm just a little nervous cause I'll be with my 12 year old son and I just know he's going to be complaining the whole way!! Lol! I'm excited to spend some time alone with him though (we have 2 other children as you may remember) and he's rather excited about the trip. He looks at it like a vacation. Lol!

Not sure when you last read the EP wiki, but I updated it this week ;) Looking at NVC's website, there's no longer an enroll email to deal with, so as soon as your fee is paid, you can send the respective form by email. Heck, there may even be a chance of sending both packages as soon as getting the case number since by the time NVC will get to the packages, both bills should be paid.

Yes, if you have a lawyer attached to your case, then they're automatically selected as agent, so you won't have to fill out the DS-261 and the IV bill should be invoiced around the same time as the AOS bill, thus shaving off about 30 days for you.

There's nothing to confirm with anything or anyone. Just pay the two fees once they become invoiced.

Direct answer from Saylin --woohoo, thanks for the information saylin.

I read your EP wiki sometime ago. Sorry I should have stayed current. LOL! So to be clear once both fees (AOS and IV) are paid we maybe able to send both packets (AOS and IV) at the same time.

I did have two questions though regarding the DS261/agent form. Before I ask them - let me remind you what all has happened (in concise) - I called up today, early morning, to NVC, got my case number and IIN number (issued on June 18). The operator asked my email id (beneficiary) and in the petitoners section the name was of the petitioner but the email id was our lawyer. I did not change that.

later this morning I went to the CEAC website, where i first tried to log in to the DS261, and after entering all the information is said that my case number wasn't eligible to further process. I then went to the payment portal where it showed the petitioner's name, and said fees NOT INVOICED. It showed nothing in the IV section.

here are my questions -

1) what should i do next? - --- just wait and see when the payment is invoiced and continue to pay the fees?

2) also, if they had my lawyer as the choice of agent, wouldn't it mean that i should have my name listed in the lower section of the payment portal and also be able to access the DS261 form?

Thanks & regards

Of course I don't mind! I am in Toronto, and I am the beneficiary. You're so lucky you don't have to worry about booking a hotel for your interview.

Yes that is one advantage of only to travel locally.

Though right now with the way NVC is moving, I feel like it is going to be a LOOOOOONGGGGG time before i come to that stage. LOL!!

Hehe! It's a pretty handy option. Seemed like an ideal plan for us, saving time and money flying from Bristol instead of Heathrow and dodging the almost certainly miserable experience at Logan. Unfortunately the person who helped my husband in Dublin wasn't too sure of what to do, so now he's really nervous that the visa wasn't processed properly. He's also exhausted, concerned he'll have customs issues in Boston, and at his wit's end because he's been traveling since something like 4 AM and won't get here until the equivalent of 11 PM. It's already been a long day for him and he's not a happy camper. Fortunately he's now boarding his flight to Boston and I live about 15 minutes from the airport, so when he gets out of the gate I can hurry him home. Let the final countdown begin!

*opens flight tracking website*

I thought flights that go through pre-clearance are gated as local flights at the destination US airport. If this is the case, the only way to correct any errors would be through a CBP office nearest to your residence days or weeks after arrival.

Hehe, yes a direct answer from moi ;)

Yeah, I suggest giving the wiki another read as I gave it an overhaul on Monday. So, yes, once the AOS bill is paid, you can send the AOS package. Once the IV bill is paid, you can send the IV package.

So, you were able to log into the payment portal, but not the online forms portal? Either way, yes, just keep checking for when the AOS bill will be invoiced. Not sure if there's currently a delay with IV invoicing if there's lawyers attached to the case, but I would think it'd be pretty close to the same time as the AOS is invoiced.

Not sure if anything changes online, name-wise, if there's a lawyer attached. This would be a question for those that actually have lawyers as I personally don't have experience with that :P

It's been a stressful time and the customs agent did nothing to inspire his confidence, but I'm expecting everything will be fine. He just won't be able to relax until he gets through Boston without incident. 6 hours and 14 minutes to go!

Ouch I am really sorry!! I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I wouldn't be surprised if you did get your interview date in sept. I mean, there are cases where people have moved through the NVC stage quite rapidly. One never knows. All we can do is send positive vibes and prayers that it moves faster.

Lets keep it positive and wish for the best!!!!

Please don't make me shed a tear. I was hoping to get an interview for early or late September, but now I see none of those are possible. So heart broken.
