Babysitting baboons can be risky. bdrew got the short end of that stick. Luckily, she was tenacious enough to make things right in spite of NVC.

I blame it on me being an only child, I don't handle not getting my way with grace and calm. I flip the eff out LOL Hurricane Bdrew612, ya'll!!!!

And my husband marched his cute tooshie to his UK MP and one snotty e-mail from me and phone call from her and the interview was moved up 3 weeks! NVC is a time suck and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in Dante's Inferno...

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

03/28/2014 - I-130 mailed to Chicago Lockbox

04/07/2014 - USCIS Received I-130 form

04/08/2014 - I-130 NOA1 and transferred to California Service Center (email) (11 days)

11/20/2014 - Website shows AOS N/A N/A which means it's possibly accepted. (Unconfirmed)

11/20/2014 - Called NVC and was informed of Case Complete!!

Medical - Scheduled for Dec 16th 2014

Interview

12/3/2014 - Email received with interview appointment for December 9th 2014

12/9/2014 - Interview went well but not approved because of birth certificate name change. Approval after fingerprint police form.

12/30/2014 - Medical and police check sent to embassy

Visa issued Jan 5th 2015 :D

5.5 months in NVC

8.5 months total

hi folks,

I follow this thread pretty diligently, and I apologize if this has been gone over--it seems like something that has, and I'm not putting two and two together well. I would really appreciate any feedback :)

We received (yay) an email with subject line of [case number] AIVF for DS-1200, and in it was a pdf instructing us it's time to pay the immigrant processing fee of $230 and to go to ceac to do so. (happy to copy and paste the pdf text directly if needed)

However, when I log in to ceac, the IV fee is *not* available in the payment portal. It still says $0.00 and no checkmark available to select to pay.

Is this a common occurrence, that we'd receive the email for fee notification, but still not have the fee available in the payment portal? It's not so much that I'm antsy (though I am) but more I want to ensure something hasn't gone haywire here.

Thank you! How's life treating you now? :)

Things are great thanks! Settling in and really feeling at home will be a long process, but he's doing so well. Life is pretty wonderful and all the challenges left seem so manageable now that we're together. I'm keeping an eye out for more good news from you soon :) Look out Disney, here you come!

I just called NVC now. Just wanted to know whether my case is being received by them or not. One representative answered me that they haven't got anything right now related to my case. Its been one week from USCIS shipped our case. Is it normal to take such a long time to deliver to NVC ?

That's what I meant by "tenacious." Was just trying to sugar-coat it.

It took 2 weeks for mine. That was back in April when NVC had less backlog.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Ok. Thanks. She told me that they need 4-5 weeks to access my case.

Well once they "receive" the case, they still need to assign you a case number. If you look at my signature, you'll see that part took another month.

Basically, it took 2 months after NOA2 before we could make any sort of progress at NVC.

Yes. I observed that. But this is too much. 2 months after NOA2 is ridicules.

That's brilliant. Glad to hear it's all going well :). Much easier to deal with the problems together! We haven't felt at home in the UK since we came back from Florida at Christmas time. We're looking forward to having our "home" again. All the best BOS :).
