check to see if you can log in. Www.ceac.state.gov. targetnovember14

Thanks Rlelle. I did go to ceac website.

I first tried to access the DS261 form. I entered my Case number and IIN number and it gave me this message:

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. if you believe that you have received this message in error."

But then I went to the Fee payment section and entered the pertinent information -- I could log into it, and it open it up. The AOS section has the petioner's name listed but the fees is not listed and it says NOT INVOICED and i cannot select it.

So i guess I just have to wait for the NVC to send us an email. Oh well.

Thanks for all your help. I do really appreciate it.

PS: are you doing EP or regular mail to send your documents?

Does anyone know what kind of process NVC follows to upgrade case from F2A (green card based) to IR (citizen based)? I have send them my naturalization certificate and copy of US passport over a month ago, they have acknowledged they have received it but every time I login to the system it still shows case preference as F2A. I wonder if they are not processing my case due to visa retrogression that happened in F2A. Does it take along time for them to upgrade the case?

My husband probably won't do preclearance in Dublin as he lives 15 minutes from Heathrow. BA flies direct to O'Hare and he's never had issue there, so I'm sure that's what he'll be doing. Of course his final journey to be with his wife would be a long and exhausting one! But this is it! From now on, your flights will be together!! :-D

Great your husband is so close to the airport! It makes life so much easier, as I can attest from my proximity to Logan. It's always a long and terrible trip for my husband to get to Boston unfortunately :( Usually he flies direct from Heathrow, but getting to London is an adventure in itself. Any option my husband has results in him leaving home in the middle of the night and spending nearly a full day traveling. He can't sleep during any of it, which makes things a lot worse. He'll be cranky and way beyond exhausted when he lands, but it gets better as soon as we're away from the airport ^_^ Just a few more hours and we can both finally rest!

Hello everyone,

So i got my Case number assigned, FINALLY. One step closer.

I had a question about Electronic processing versus traditional courier of paperwork for NVC stage. I have read Saylin's wiki page about EP or regular mail method. I wanted to know if i enroll for the EP process, does one have to wait for the confirmation email from NVC and then only send the AOS and IV packet? Or can one send it before without any repercussions?

I had seen cases in May/June, where some people had signed up for EP and sent their paperwork (AOS etc) and then were asked to send again after they got confirmation email that they are enrolled.

Any advice or suggestion would be helpful. Thank you.

Not sure when you last read the EP wiki, but I updated it this week ;) Looking at NVC's website, there's no longer an enroll email to deal with, so as soon as your fee is paid, you can send the respective form by email. Heck, there may even be a chance of sending both packages as soon as getting the case number since by the time NVC will get to the packages, both bills should be paid.

Hello,

I called up NVC this morning, and got my Case number and IIN number (as per Saylin's wiki page, thanks, saylin!).

The operator told me that the case number was assigned on 18 june. She asked me (i am the beneficiary) my email address and I gave it to her. She then to me the petitioner's email ID was our lawyer's email id. I didn't change that.

I just got to know, that now we have to wait for an email from NVC before we can submit the DS261 form online. This truly sucks!

"On Saylin's wikipage it says ----- if you have a lawyer/attorney/legal representative from the I-130 petition, then they'll be automatically selected as agent for your case, thus by-passing the DS-261. This also means that the IV bill will be invoiced at or around the same time as the AOS bill."

We did have a lawyer representing our I-130 petition, does this mean that i bypass filling the DS261? IF yes, then how do i confirm bypassing DS261? Do i just go on CEAC site, and check there? Sorry for my naiveté of this process. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

Yes, if you have a lawyer attached to your case, then they're automatically selected as agent, so you won't have to fill out the DS-261 and the IV bill should be invoiced around the same time as the AOS bill, thus shaving off about 30 days for you.

There's nothing to confirm with anything or anyone. Just pay the two fees once they become invoiced.

Upon noticing the N/A change on AOS fee, my wife and I were ecstatic to call and confirm our NVC case complete today! We're SOOOO HAPPY!!!! :D

Any NZ filers waiting on or have any idea how long it takes to get an interview date?

IS it possible to pay the AOS and IV fee at the same time???

Also, Can I send the AOS packet and IV packet at the same time??

Only if you have a lawyer will both be invoiced at the same time. Otherwise you need to pay attention to the NVC wiki and flowchart.

My Rant (it’s been a while since I been with ya’ll here).

Can someone explain to me what has happened to the mental state of NVC and the timeline?

Seriously! They told my friend the Petitioner that NVC cannot talk to the Petitioner only beneficiary. This after being on hold endlessly to hear this.

So I say call back so they did this morning only to find out that their petition that was approved over a month ago just got their Monday and to wait another month for case#.

Now I am seeing people get case# and still waiting weeks and weeks to be invoiced.

NVC has now become USCIS. What in the name of all that’s holy is going on people. :ranting::protest:
