Not the IV fee invoice, but I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for the AOS fee invoice and the DS-261. It seems, as many members have mentioned, that there is a backlog at the NVC.

I agree that if calling helps you feel like you have some control and gives you peace of mind, then by all means dial away :goofy:

For me personally, the days pass quicker when I keep myself busy with other things. The days I called, I had knots in my stomach and I watched the clock tick by until they opened the phone lines. I ignored my children as I sat on hold for fear I would miss them picking up the call. I didn't like how it made me feel to be hurried off the line at the end of the long wait. I do think it can be beneficial to call at key points (ie 30 business days when you are waiting for invoices / possible checklists or interview dates as the sooner you know the quicker you can act) but other than that, I see no benefit in calling every day.

me neither. I remember that NVC had posted a bulletin announcing that due to increase in approved I-130 petitions there is just going to be a longer waiting period. You can't really control that, and calling everyday just makes more work for everyone which means longer waiting periods. Everyone wants to go through fast, but it's like traffic jams on the highway, pushing ahead or making a fuss doesn't make it better and won't get you out faster.

I think most people get either a false checklist or a real checklist once their AOS is reviewed. If you get an email that says "Checklist" in the subject line, just take a deep breath, open it and read carefully. As long as they are not asking for something specific, it should be a false checklist. In my case I got a real checklist the day after my AOS was reviewed. I also received a false checklist the day after my IV docs were reviewed (meaning they were approved).

So, in my experience you won't have to wait too long after they review to hear if you have a real checklist so you can respond quickly. (I actually rang every day the week mine was reviewed and then received it the next morning, so I didn't save myself any time by calling NVC about it and just drove myself crazy sitting on hold every day) If I were you, I would just try to sit back and relax and wait for an email. Having said that, who knows what NVC is doing 99% of the time so we can never be sure how long it takes for them to send the email, so if you are happy to call and put up with the waiting and the snarky operators, by all means go for it!

I am not too sure how many people get their AOS reviewed/approved without either a false or real checklist (in that case no news would mean good news) Perhaps someone who has had that happen can comment?

Or there are people like us, who got a false checklist and thought the we were all set and then 2 days later got a real checklist. Lucky us, we got both.

Thank you so much, I hope you get a CC soon.

Thanks samreen, I wish the same for you! You are so positive throughout all of this and you even know you have daunting task of waiting a long time for an interview and dealing with AP. You are so strong!

I don't even think about AP. My mind wouldn't accept that it can happen to us. We have no reason of the normal reasons they have for putting a person in AP. Male petetioner, same age, part of the family, arranged marriage, no criminal record etc. Dear God don't let that happen. And as for my being strong, if there is one thing this process teaches u that's strength and patience. But Thankyou for the kind words and wishes :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your wife beat you to it on telling me on Facebook :P Glad you got AMAZING news to start your week off with a bang!

(I'd add some dancing emoticons, but I think you very much covered it in your post :P)

I never got a false (nor real :P) checklist for either of my packages. And even though it was 3 years ago, false checklists were still happening then.

Cheers! You can't shake me from leaving though ;). Until I can beat you from the States. Thanks for speaking to my insane wife.. Sorry about her abnormal amount of energy she's had lately.. :P

Congrats! Did she tweet the good news? I don't think I saw her tweet (or I'm blocked for behaving badly? LOL)?

Cheers! She did I think? It's how her and Bdrew communicate lol. I'm sure you will go through her tweets and see them :P

Oh finally, congratulations!!! So incredibly happy for you!! :dancing::dance::dancing:

Thank you! How's life treating you now? :)

Congrats, happy when heard this from you. Mine maybe next week :)

Thank you! Your good news is coming!

YAY! I came on here just for this.... I just had a feeling that today was going to be your day! How exciting! Just in time for interview scheduling!!! :dancing:

Thanks! All the best to you! P.S. on your expedite request, we sent one last Thursday. My wife received a "your request is under review" 5 days later. I've notice the time scales vary when you do get a response. We never received another e-mail after that, but when she called on the Friday the agent on the phone told her the expedite was denied. LOL. So they will know about it. :)

Having a strong and supporting spouse makes all the difference in this world. During the worst times, their mettle shines brighter than the bravest soldiers in the battlefield. Make sure you communicate your appreciation to your wife every now and then. We men tend to be retarded in this department.

Really glad you finally got that absurdly overdue CC. I would have felt guilty if I had beat you to it.

Babysitting baboons can be risky. bdrew got the short end of that stick. Luckily, she was tenacious enough to make things right in spite of NVC.

Cheers! Are you going to be calling soon? :).

desnvc.jpg

That's brilliant!!! Thanks! :)

Thanks you Stackeria and PCOZ :)

Good luck to all those who are still waiting this week! Hope you all get good news! :)
