I think most people get either a false checklist or a real checklist once their AOS is reviewed. If you get an email that says "Checklist" in the subject line, just take a deep breath, open it and read carefully. As long as they are not asking for something specific, it should be a false checklist. In my case I got a real checklist the day after my AOS was reviewed. I also received a false checklist the day after my IV docs were reviewed (meaning they were approved).

So, in my experience you won't have to wait too long after they review to hear if you have a real checklist so you can respond quickly. (I actually rang every day the week mine was reviewed and then received it the next morning, so I didn't save myself any time by calling NVC about it and just drove myself crazy sitting on hold every day) If I were you, I would just try to sit back and relax and wait for an email. Having said that, who knows what NVC is doing 99% of the time so we can never be sure how long it takes for them to send the email, so if you are happy to call and put up with the waiting and the snarky operators, by all means go for it!

I am not too sure how many people get their AOS reviewed/approved without either a false or real checklist (in that case no news would mean good news) Perhaps someone who has had that happen can comment?

Thank you-- that sounds like good practical low-stress advice... unless someone chimes in with a different response, I will just keep on eye on my e-mail and maybe call again if I don't hear anything by Friday.

Thanks again for the input. Good luck with your process-- it looks like you should be getting a CC any day now, right?

Guys I have been actually wondering something since a few days. Does the fact that this batch of Nvc thread doesn't call them as much can play a factor as to our slowed processing times? I remember reading May and June thread and I remember people on that including Lovemytico, estrangais and a lot of them calling everyday and even twice a day. We have gotten so tired and frustrated by their standard 30 day business day reply that we stopped calling but I remember that they used to be quoted the same stupid reply. So what do u think? Should we start clogging their phone lines?:P

I guess people are tired of hearing the 30business days usual quote. I really missed Lovemytico, estrangais, Changnoi, Lucy, Sukie and the rest L ladies, am sure NVC misses them as well. They were determined to get good results and good news no matter what NVC says.

I really hope my cc is soon! I have such a hatred of calling that I never even called and got my scan date, but my checklist response was received 16th June (probably scanned by about the 20th June). I am stalking the CEAC website to see if my AOS fee goes to N/A and if nothing changes by the end of the week I might call and see if I have a case complete and if not find out my actual scan date (at least that way I would feel like I called for a reason). My 30 business days is approximately Friday, so I hope for good news this week.

:ot: I have a 3 friends flying in to visit for a girls' weekend this Friday.:energy::goofy: We are staying in the city and there will be a lot of wine/shopping/dancing going on. So, if I don't get a case complete by the end of the week I will be too busy to think about it and if I do get a case complete I will be celebrating in style. Win-win!! ! :ot2:

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your wife beat you to it on telling me on Facebook :P Glad you got AMAZING news to start your week off with a bang!

(I'd add some dancing emoticons, but I think you very much covered it in your post :P)

I never got a false (nor real :P) checklist for either of my packages. And even though it was 3 years ago, false checklists were still happening then.

So AustinCanada…a question --- You are doing regular mail process…but haven't they approved your AOS package already? Wow they are taking a long time.

So in 30 business days of each package (hopefully) you will find out if the package is complete or you get a checklist right? This means your AOS package should be pretty close to 30 business days, right? And the IV package will be sometime in end of august, if we follow the "regular" timeline of 30 business days.

Yes, I've decided to send my AOS and IV packages by mail. :star:

Since my AOS package scan date is June 16th, they'll probably review it this week.

Yes, it's taking about 30 business days (45 days) for them to review any packages and forms now. :bonk:

Are you trying to get an interview date in Nov since your name is TargetNovember14? You might get an interview in Oct!

I am also so much less stressed since I stopped calling every day. Personally, I can't stand the butterflies waiting on hold gives me and the let down when I am spoken to like a child. I never want to feel the way I felt the week I called every day.

My wife has been the strongest through this whole process, even though she's broke down a lot lately. She's always would quote this, "God never tells us no, he has three options. Yes, not right now, or I have something better in mind.". It's hard, but patience was something we really learned during this process..

All the best!

Congrats, happy when heard this from you. Mine maybe next week :)

I guess people are tired of hearing the 30business days usual quote. I really missed Lovemytico, estrangais, Changnoi, Lucy, Sukie and the rest L ladies, am sure NVC misses them as well. They were determined to get good results and good news no matter what NVC says.

I read all the posts.... I get notifications on my phone. I'm still here. etrangais moved and started a new job and his wife is with him now. Lucybelle also moved back to the US with her husband but I think she still reads the thread now and again. She sent me a nice message the other day.

I used to call 3 times a day because it made it seem like I was doing something. I spent 11 months at the USCIS with absolutely no way to get an update.

By calling, I was able to find out I received a checklist before the email was actually sent.( by a day) I was check listed for my husband's birth cert. I found out at 1pm our time over the phone. I was able to send my husband to the city early the next morning to get another BC and FedEx it to me so I received it first thing Monday Morning . If I waited for the email, we would have lost 2 days. I also found out by calling that they check listed me for 2 things that weren't required for Costa Rica and I was able to get a supervisor review ASAP. It only took 2 days for them to remove the stupid items. I was actually able to speak to several supervisors just by asking. Also, when they gave me a CC and then took it back, I found out by calling. Then I asked for a supervisor who cleared it up that night and called me twice to make sure I knew it would be taken care of. I received really great customer service from Sylvia. ( day shift supervisor)

I feel like I was on top of them by calling so often. Actually, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't call often.. but to each his own I guess.

They make alot of mistakes at the NVC. You have to babysit them
