yes you are right. I meant to say think positive. Ofcourse its upto the customs officer. I am sorry that you were denied. You really got a mean one didn't you…actually twice….oh boy...

Please don't say "will be" as you make it sound like it's 100% chance. It is ALWAYS up to the customs officer to let you in or not. Although chances are high for those visiting from Canada and VWP countries, there will never be a 100% guarantee of being let in. I'm proof, was denied twice at the border :P

Don't worry, I was planning on saving that photo when I got home and include it in the "checklist". If you want the checklist to sound better, haha, you can always write up a format for me to use ;)

Ooooh! A project!! :energy:

That's what I figured you meant (to think positively), just wanted to be sure ;)

First time was my own fault, I was naive and thought I could do something I found out was illegal (this was before I found lovely VJ :P ). Second time I got a real pr!ck who thought he was a know-it-all and seemed more than happy to deny me :ranting: Not only was I upset, but my dad, who I've never really seen angry, was very pissed off on our ride back to our home (I tried crossing at a land border and he was driving me to an airport in the US).

Ooooh! A project!! :energy:

Hehe, go for it! If I like it, I'll use it ;)

I don't know. My heart was pounding and I was trying not to jumble my words as I always do once I finally get to talk to a human, so her name went in one ear and out the other. Sorry. :( But yeah, she said exactly what the phone operator said-- it is under review, but they can't even give me a prediction of when it will finally become available, that they're really busy, and that's it.

It's okay, I feel bad for the people who had to deal with the USCIS backlog and are now dealing with the NVC one. We at least had great luck with USCIS.

I am one of those few unfortunate people who got stuck in both the backlogs. It's been almost 14 months now since we filed our 130. Seems like forever.

NOA2 finally- 4-23-2014

NVC received- 5-7-2014

Case number- 5-31-2014

DS-261- June 10th!

AOS sent- 3rd july

AOS scanned- 11th July

so looks like nvc is scanning packages rather quickly these days. that's good news. but looks like there is still great delays with receiviing invoices. why such delay? would these be 2 distinct areas within the nvc? I don't know as I'm not there yet (but wish I was). I'm following along so I get a feel for what lays ahead....if that day ever comes.

saylin, looks like your trip to orlando is coming quickly....boy does time fly!!! maybe i'll have my noa2 by then....just an idea....not like i'm rushing uscis or anything...

Thanks. But I am not the only one. There is an unlucky bunch of us who filed in march from June 2013 who are still stuck here. Most have gone by though. Next Nvc thread will be my fifth thread! Hopefully the last one!!!

Yeah but just one day improvement of scanning packages is nothing to the pain they are causing ppl in giving the invoice as well as reviewing. I miss good old Nvc so much!!!

Hehehe, I can't wait to read this!

As I was typing, I realize a couple things; the only format that truly "works" is the NVC check list format! LOL Second, maybe on the DS-261 column, maybe changing the language to DS-261 completed instead of available (since people do silly things like re-open it and re-set the clock?

Lol yes...

WOW…..i have seen US customs officers…"the know it all" kinds….they are a real pain….and there is no chance of a logical conversation with them. I bet your father was angry…hell I would be too….They never cease to amaze me. I just retired back from NYC this morning…the security lines were just a clusterf***…. oh well… one day at a time.

So totally a different question..my lawyer scanned all the paperwork on july 9…(i am doing EP)…and he received an email confirmation on July 10 and i submitted the DS260 on July 14 and have confirmation page and the whole 13 pages print out. Technically my 30 business days start from july 10 right???? I think it comes to august 25..its marked on my phone…Also there is no way of the NVC operators knowing anything about my case right, as it is EP?? Also EP takes longer, oh well i anticipate maybe by end of september if i don't get a checklist…fingers crossed..

That's what I figured you meant (to think positively), just wanted to be sure ;)

There's just a giant backlog at NVC right now due to a huge influx of adjudicated files from USCIS. Unfortunately, NVC wasn't (and still isn't, it seems) prepared for it. So, time frames are just getting longer for each and every step.

And yes, it's slowly getting closer! I just bought my Disney and Universal tickets last night, so it's feeling a bit more real!

HAHA.

And hmm, yes, I can change it to say 'completed' instead of 'available'

Yeah, I tried explaining a few things to the second officer, but it was just in one ear and out the next. I'm pretty sure he thought I was lying and trying to circumvent things due to my previous denial. Oh well...

Yes, I would believe the 30 days for your two packages would start on July 10th, and then July 14th for your DS-260. You can call NVC though, it's just a hit or miss with those operators knowing about EP.
