Congrats.....lemmi know how the customs in Boston treats him coz ill be going through there really soon....TIA

I would love to help but he's actually going through customs in Dublin. We've had mostly bad experiences with Logan just for regular visits, so he decided to take advantage of the US border preclearance available in Dublin rather than dealing with the whole process in Boston.

Will his POE clearance be in Dublin or States side? Hope it's the former so you get over POE anxiety with an early message.

Just got the message! Clearance at Dublin is done!

You'll soon realize there is no need to be excited about this, as we now have to wait for an email from NVC before we can log in to the CEAC to do the ds-261. Some have been waiting for 3 weeks after getting their case number. :-(

Let me understand this---

SO once the case number is assigned NVC sends an email to us, saying that we are ready to file for DS 261. And we cannot do it before that.

Hello,

I called up NVC this morning, and got my Case number and IIN number (as per Saylin's wiki page, thanks, saylin!).

The operator told me that the case number was assigned on 18 june. She asked me (i am the beneficiary) my email address and I gave it to her. She then to me the petitioner's email ID was our lawyer's email id. I didn't change that.

I just got to know, that now we have to wait for an email from NVC before we can submit the DS261 form online. This truly sucks!

"On Saylin's wikipage it says ----- if you have a lawyer/attorney/legal representative from the I-130 petition, then they'll be automatically selected as agent for your case, thus by-passing the DS-261. This also means that the IV bill will be invoiced at or around the same time as the AOS bill."

We did have a lawyer representing our I-130 petition, does this mean that i bypass filling the DS261? IF yes, then how do i confirm bypassing DS261? Do i just go on CEAC site, and check there? Sorry for my naiveté of this process. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

My Rant (it’s been a while since I been with ya’ll here).

Can someone explain to me what has happened to the mental state of NVC and the timeline?

Seriously! They told my friend the Petitioner that NVC cannot talk to the Petitioner only beneficiary. This after being on hold endlessly to hear this.

So I say call back so they did this morning only to find out that their petition that was approved over a month ago just got their Monday and to wait another month for case#.

Now I am seeing people get case# and still waiting weeks and weeks to be invoiced.

NVC has now become USCIS. What in the name of all that’s holy is going on people. :ranting::protest:

What I'm saying is, we can't log in PERIOD! I can log in to see the status of invoices but t just says "not invoiced", but where the forms are concerned I can't log in there. Until we get the email, our case is at a stand still.

Oh ok, so it doesn't matter if you have a lawyer or not, you now have to wait to get an email from the NVC.

The only reason I asked about the lawyer thing, is that on some people's timeline, they say DS261 not required as they have a lawyer on file and they moved on to the next step of AOS and IV fees

I told my husband about being able to do preclearance in Dublin, he's completely baffled by it LOL

Hehe! It's a pretty handy option. Seemed like an ideal plan for us, saving time and money flying from Bristol instead of Heathrow and dodging the almost certainly miserable experience at Logan. Unfortunately the person who helped my husband in Dublin wasn't too sure of what to do, so now he's really nervous that the visa wasn't processed properly. He's also exhausted, concerned he'll have customs issues in Boston, and at his wit's end because he's been traveling since something like 4 AM and won't get here until the equivalent of 11 PM. It's already been a long day for him and he's not a happy camper. Fortunately he's now boarding his flight to Boston and I live about 15 minutes from the airport, so when he gets out of the gate I can hurry him home. Let the final countdown begin!

My husband probably won't do preclearance in Dublin as he lives 15 minutes from Heathrow. BA flies direct to O'Hare and he's never had issue there, so I'm sure that's what he'll be doing. Of course his final journey to be with his wife would be a long and exhausting one! But this is it! From now on, your flights will be together!! :-D
