You need to call NVC to find out the "scan date". NVC will scan the AOS and IV at the same time but will not necessarily review them on the same day. Right now both IV and AOS are taking close to 30 business days.

Edit: Note it's currently taking 3-5 business days to scan packages after delivery.

Edit2: Also note if your attorney submitted packages via electronic processing (EP) then it's a different story altogether!

Thank you for your response!! My attorney sent in the mail and decided to bypass the EP.... He felt that there was too much wish wash with system yet and wanted to make sure we didn't get any delay in the system. I understand his thoughts, but after reading here it seems there have been no issues with EP!

Hi Everyone,

Just got off the phone with Paige at NVC.

Case number assigned july 10th and I called on July 11th to get this info and gave our emails. I thought the 30 days started from case number assigned to receive the email with the next steps? Am I wrong here? We still have not been able to fill out DS-261 or AOS fee

She told me that as of today my case has been "inputed to process info" and that I can expect the email any time in the next 20 days from Today!!! Is this what others experienced or is this a sign of their backlog and delays to come?

I also asked about the computer crash issue and she said eveything is fine and the systems are running fine. She acted as tho she didnt know about the computer crash.

Thanks all! Im still reading the posts from today, there was a lot of chatter :dancing:

Just keep checking... timelines are all over the place. I completed everything within 9 days... some take 2 months or more... just keep checking.

Hello i wanna discuss about something. Do you think we'll get checklisted if I only submitted 1 letter of employment and pay stubs from my first job only? I got my second job but I am new and just started this month so I can't get yet. Do you think it's necessary to send it if ever i can get my letter of employment from my other job because Im planning to send it with the cover letter. Im bothered because I dont want to get a checklist because of this. Do you think it's possible to send it before they'll scan our case so it's there and no need for them to issue us a checklist? Or maybe can we just call to nvc and fax to them a letter of explanation including a copy of my first pay stub. Because i've read not to send additional documents if NVC didn't ask for it because it will just complicate the case. Your answers will be a major relief to me and my wife. Thank you!

do you make enough with your first job to cover the poverty guidelines?? if you do, I wouldn't worry about it. I sent in a corrected AOS 2 days after my lawyer sent an incorrect one. I just used the original barcode sheet. I did eventually get check listed for the AOS but the corrected one was already scanned . I saved alot of time. Just remember, if you send in the extra paystub and they never checklist you for it, that mail will have to be reviewed before you get a CC.

Hey everyone! I'm about to send off my AOS packets just wondering if you guys could let me know if I'm missing anything.

if you send copies, you will get checklisted ... everything has to be the ORIGINAL or Certified COPY. But in my opinion, originals are the way to go . And you don't need the entire tax return, just send the transcripts. and you really just need the 2013. The other 2 years are optional.

For your package, you can't just send in the tax return forms. It has to be the ENTIRE package (1040, W2s, 1099s, schedules, worksheets, etc). Basically everything that was sent to the IRS has to be sent to NVC. This is why tax transcripts are much preferred as they're typically just a few pages long (compared to, like, a book for some people).

if you send copies, you will get checklisted ... everything has to be the ORIGINAL or Certified COPY. But in my opinion, originals are the way to go . And you don't need the entire tax return, just send the transcripts. and you really just need the 2013. The other 2 years are optional.

Copies are fine in the AOS package for proof of US citizenship/residency. It's only civil documents in the IV package that need to be originals/certified copies.

Thanks Saylin! I do have the W2's which is what was sent with the tax returns. My joint sponsor doesn't even know transcripts even exist!! Lol! When I mentioned it to her she started freaking out!! She made me feel crazy!!
