Case complete at NVC today :dancing:

Does anyone know when the interview for the London embassy may fall? I have a holiday booked in August but don't want to cause delays due to that.

Congratulations! Regarding the interview, you will most likely see an interview in September but even so, you could still try and re-schedule the interview for a different date if it doesn't work out for you.

I can probably take off the AOS and IV paid columns as like you said, most people fill it out right away. And the DS-261 one as well as again, most people fill it out ASAP. But, I know many people take their time with the DS-260 and don't submit it right away, so it might make more sense to keep that one. Although, I can probably remove when the DS-260 becomes available as, unless things have changed, it's pretty soon after the IV bill appears as PAID.

Just mention it at the interview :)

Exactly my point ;)

So, after a grinding 6-week wait for my Vietnam PCC to be reviewed at NVC I get another checklist telling me to.... submit my Vietnam PCC.

This is either some kind of cruel joke or they've lost my PCC, or I don't know.

FYI, the checklist cover letter now says 30 days instead of 20.

They are definitely done with scheduling August. September should start next week, keep an eye on the interview thread (linked in the first post of this thread). Once others start reporting interview dates, call up NVC to get yours - it takes about 1-5 days to get the appointment letter from NVC.

on the I-864 instructions it actually says to leave it blank if it dosnt apply to you. I thought the same thing until i read over the instructions.

We also followed the exact directions on the I-864 and left blank anything that didn't apply.

We did not get checklisted for this.

My wife called NVC this afternoon. As informed earlier, we have two IR5 cases. We are both EP processing. We both received a checklist on April 30th for same reason ( I-864 - petitioner put Adjusted gross income instead of Total gross income). We both sent replies to checklist attaching revised I-864. My case was completed on June 4th but NVC informed that they did not receive her email reply. Supervisor review did not help, rather delayed sending response for a week. My wife resent checklist reply on a June 10th. She confirmed of NVC received her email and was informed that an email was in system (no way to find the contents). She had forwarded her email of April. 30th to two supervisors that she talked to on June. 9th.

She called this afternoon and talked to another supervisor (Matty). She was told that NVC has three emails in system: June 11, June 25 and July 11th. She only sent emails on June 10th only. Supervisor told her that she would not get a case complete until they do not review all the emails. They have not looked at her June 10th email as of today. We are tired of this process.

We are not in a rush to move to US but this process has caused severe stress. EP processing sucks and so does NVC.

It's not like one is REQUIRED to fill out the spreadsheet. It's completely optional, ya know ;)

Yes I know but still hear complaints why people don't fill it out just wanted you to know it's not that I'm lazy I will always try to fill it out but if I don't you know why. :P

Got a checklist today for my AOS package that was scanned in June 10. They're requesting two things.

You must submit the following financial evidence:
[x] Proof of current employment (examples: a recently dated job letter, pay stub, or a copy of your business license).
[x] 2013 W-2 forms(s) or IRS Tax Transcript(s).
I live and work overseas, so we don't receive W-2 forms and the IRS tax transcripts weren't available at the time of sending the package (it takes the IRS over a month to send me the transcripts over here and they're not available online for whatever reason). I had explained this in a letter sent with the copied tax return but it seems that wasn't sufficient.
With the employment letter I had thought it was optional, but since I saw someone else got a checklist regarding this that lived overseas, I guess they're requiring it for people living and working overseas now. I had put my current income as $0 since it won't be continuing once I move back and am using assets and a joint sponsor to prove ability to support, but it seems they want more info on my foreign employer all the same.
Going to mail it all back in today. At least it should only take a week extra since they just received my IV documents.

Ok Guys I have 2 questions about Police certificates

1. I read that you need a police certificate for each country you lived in after the age of 16, I have only lived in Australia and america (for 12mths) but when I went on to the Sate.Gov website and was reading about getting ready for IV package it said that you dont need one for living in America is this correct??? if its wrong does anyone know how to go about getting one from there???

2 and for any other aussies out there I went to police station today and filled out the form and did fingerprints ect how long does it normally take to get it back?

thanks guys

Hi kay&jeff, my husband's Australian police certificate took less than two weeks to be mailed to us.

I can't think of any way to pinpoint the specific file if you had tested it before sending it.

IIRC, when this happened previously, someone suggested to print everything out, then re-scan it in and that should fix the password-protect problem.

Yikes it took me 2 days to scan everything and get the file sizes small enough that they could be sent by email! I guess that could be a good last resort, there goes my weekend...

were they PDF's? did you check the security properties (Advanced/Security/Show Security Properties) prior to sending? You can not protect a MS Word document, but you can lock the editing....they would need to "enable editing" which should pop up at the top of the page (but is often missed).

Not sure what type of docs were sent so it is hard to say.

Yes they were PDF's, no I didn't check the security properties, that didn't even occur to me. I just tried opening them on another computer and it worked so I figured we were good to go.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this suggestion :):D:dance:

(for others who may be reading this later, to check security properties on a mac, go to "finder", right click on the file > "get info" > in the pop up box "more info">"Security" (about halfway down))

I clicked on all 33 of my files, 3 of the 4 PDFs that were generated by my bank said "Password Encrypted". Weird that I didn't need to a password to open them, and weird that the 4th one didn't say that, but that is what the security info said.

I think before I rescan all 33 files, I will try just doing those 3 and resending the package first. I sent the first email Saturday and got the email reply today so if more scanning is needed I should know by early next week.

This information was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and is something everybody doing EP should check before emailing in their documents. Thanks so much!!!!

This surely has delayed your case by another 45 days. It's good that you found the files. Make sure that you resend whole package again as a checklist reply. You may want to look at Saylin's WiKi for replying to a checklist.

All the best!

This would be nice. I seriously need to avoid any checklist, when I get to NVC

I'll be replying to your PM shortly about this ;)

Case complete at NVC today :dancing:

Does anyone know when the interview for the London embassy may fall? I have a holiday booked in August but don't want to cause delays due to that.

Congrats!! *waiting in Fargo for you to arrive ;) *

Exactly my point ;)

Shortly after I posted that reply, I went in and removed the columns I mentioned. So, it's now a wee bit shorter

Yes I know but still hear complaints why people don't fill it out just wanted you to know it's not that I'm lazy I will always try to fill it out but if I don't you know why. :P

Sounds like this might be good information to add to the EP wiki... I've bookmarked your post and I'll try to get around to updating the wiki this weekend with this information!
