Just got hard copy NOA2 from NVC today. Thought I would say Hi. It looks like there's another waiting game going on over at NVC. Let's hope I can jump through these hoops successfully. Anyway Hello to all.

Hello and good luck....oh and congrats :)

Marriage: 12/10/2013
Sent I-130: 1/23/14
NOA1: 1/30/14
NOA2: 6/10/14
Email that it was shipped to nvc: 6/23/14
Received by NVC: 7/1/14
Case#/IID# assigned: 7/16/14
Received/Submitted DS-261: 7/29/14
Paid AOS fee: 7/30/14
Sent AOS packet: 8/1/14
Aos fee showing PAID: 8/2/14
Received and paid IV Fee: 9/8/14 (fee showing paid / DS-260 available 9/9/14)
Submitted DS-260: 9/11/14
Sent IV packet: 9/24/14
NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

APPT complete/Visa approved: 2/5/2015

I must say I'M REALLY PISSED OFF I GOT STUCK IN ANOTHER LONG BACKLOG and it's just not fair. Everyone after CC will get their interview and I'll have another long wait. I think they're trying to see if I commit suicide first. :ranting:

Is everything okay, my friend? Have you been sleeping okay? :)

Unfortunately, you got unlucky (or screwed?) since you applied in June, 2013. Sadly, timing seems to be everything when it comes to immigration. :dead:

I thought I was going to be done with the NVC stage in 30 days after getting a case number, but it's been 2 months and I still got another 50 days to go since I just sent my IV package. That's assuming I don't get a checklist. So it will take around 4 months (120 days) to get through the NVC stage if you don't have a lawyer and you don't get a checklist. I was looking at the spreadsheet and it looks like 50% of the filers received a checklist so the current average timeline of 59 days will go up for sure in the near future.

It seems like we both got screwed this time! :bonk:

Would love it to not be so, would also love to go to sleep and wake up after the interview. :D

hi everyone! its been awhile since i had a chance to go on visa journey its because i just came back from my long vacation to be with my husband. anyway, just an update, we received a checklist on april 14, 2014... it was a singapore police clearance for my husband, the process took 2 months to secure the police clearance. we have sent the response to our checklist on july 3 and based on the tracking the package was delivered to NVC on july 7, 2014.... does anybody know how long do we get an interview notice? and do we received an email or a letter? i hope someone can help or answer me with my question. thanks! :)

Oh, one more question!

For question 13 "I have filed a Federal tax return for each for the three most recent tax years. I have attached the required photocopy or transcript of my Federal tax return for only the most recent year"

Should I leave this unchecked if she did not file in 2013 but did for 2012 and 2011?

I vote leaving it unchecked as 2013 taxes weren't filed for.

Saylin

I don't think it is a matter of how many columns - I think the question is how easy is it interpret by its readers. In this case, all the information is needed. What you have done well is group that information and then colour code it. If the 'whole' picture is to be seen it needs to be large.

Great job.

Thanks for the kind words! And yes, you're right, although there will be a lot of columns, I tried to make it as easy as possible to interpret and thought sectioning it off with colors (I love adding some color to a spreadsheet :D) might be a good idea. Glad you agree!

Is everything okay, my friend? Have you been sleeping okay? :)

Yeah, the average time is gonna go way up. Most of the recent case completes are those that got through before NVC started getting backlogged (specifically the 30 business days between DS-261 and IV bill). I think that started around the end of May or something, so once those people that were hit with the extended time frames start getting case completes, it's gonna be 100+ days at a minimum. Even more with checklists.

So, before I create a new request form for the new layout, any other suggestions for columns? What about calculations, did I get all of them?

Also, question to those who did EP: are there received and scanned dates for emailed packages? Or is there basically just one date of when they received (or opened?) the email? Trying to figure out how the two columns for each package are going to work with those going through EP.

Yes, waiting for the IV fee invoice for 30 business days (45 days) is torture. :dead:

In addition to the IV fee wait, it used to take 2-3 weeks for NVC to review documents until April. Now it's taking up to 30 business days (45 days) to review documents. :bonk:

Good old days at NVC. :star: I guess I missed the boat by 1-2 months!

I'm also thinking that I'll leave the current sheet as is as well as the old request form. Then, for those who are serious (not necessarily to use the data [although bonus if you are], but to contribute ALL the information), I'll have a separate request form. It's too messy mid-2014 to somehow combine the old and new layouts. In 2015 though, it'll just be the new layout and at that point, if you want to be on the spreadsheet, you'll need to be "serious" (as mentioned above). I think this will be the easiest to go about it.

Think this is a good idea?

(And sorry for all the spreadsheet posts/questions lately, just like getting input! Especially since this change is for you guys ;) )

Your AOS FEE will change to N/A. That will indicate you have a Case Complete. Once your case is shipped to the Embassy, it will change back to PAID.

Sorry but I'm little confused, this is how my page looks like...can you explain after looking at this picture? Thanks

I'm not sure how else I can explain it. When you have a Case Complete the AOS FEE will change from PAID to N/A. If it still says PAID, you don't have a CC yet.

Maybe as opposed to 2015, maybe transitioning to the new form Aug 1? Within a few months, everyone will be on Yoda Sheet 2.0! People still waiting at some stage will likely complete the new form, or just not read the first post, business as usual :-P

Although it'd be nice to get everyone on Yoda Sheet 2.0 ( ) that quickly, I'm not sure if EVERYONE currently without case completes will fill out the new form. Especially when some of these people don't even know when certain things transpired. My goal is by 2015, but if everyone on the old sheet fills out the new form (or gets a case complete), then perhaps I can "retire" the old layout even before the end of the year :)
