Got IV bill yesterday from NVC. Up till now the bill is not yet available online for payment. Please have anyone experience this? Is this normal? What should I do? Should I call NVC?

Hi EOC4ever,

Were you able to pay your IV bill? I've got an email for IV invoice yesterday but I can't see the payment portal yet in the website till now. I just wonder if they have a standard turn around time for this.

I don't think anything would sway him. I have to hope that since the question clearly states "to be completed by petitioner sponsors only", that marking it "N/A" on a joint sponsor's I-864 will not incur a checklist.

If it creates a problem, we will have to hunt for a different joint sponsor. I can't be the only sponsor since my income will not continue from the same source once I move back to the US, and I unfortunately don't have enough assets to do it that way. This is an annoying hurdle for all USCs overseas.

On the plus side, we completed the DS-260 and sent in our IV packet yesterday. :)

Oh my I'm so sorry to hear about this and I'll be praying your father sees the light and helps you out. It's such a little thing really. But from one that had to leave her husband due to an emergency at least you are with your loved one it's much worse being apart. So I'm happy for you there but will be praying for you that all goes well from here on. :)(F) (L) (F)

Hi all, my husband and I received a checklist from NVC which we sent back last week. We were informed 20-30 business days for review but are wondering if anyone has any experience with this being faster? We've been in the NVC stage since April and it feels like it will never end. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, sent mine in 6/19, wasn't scanned until 6/30. They continue to quote the 30 business days to me, but hoping it comes in soon. Really annoyed because everything else is fine now, and it was a stupid 'mistake' on my part to follow the form instructions.

04/14/12 - First date in the U.S.

02/26/13 - Married

06/3/13 - Petition Filed (had been unsuccessfully trying to move to Europe)

06/6/13 - NOA1 (National Benefits Center)

12/19/13 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

03/3/14 - I130 Approved

03/18/14 - NVC Received file from USCIS

04/28/14 - Received/Paid AOS Bill

05/01/14 - Received/Paid IV Bill

05/14/14 - Sent AOS Package

05/30/14 - Sent IV Package

06/05/14 - Submitted DS-260

06/19/14 - Received checklist for AOS, resubmitted required corrections

08/09/14 - Case completed at NVC

08/14/14 - Received Interview Date

09/08/14 - Interview date - Approved!

09/11/14 - Raced into town, threw car into a parking spot, and ran down city streets to get to the courier company 2 minutes before the close to get passport back

10/10/14 - POE Entry

Hi Group,

Just wanted to say thank you for your support throughout this difficult year with immigration. After 16 months of this process, today at our interview we were approved.

Our initial interview was scheduled for July 21st at 6:45 am, and we arrived at 5am. At 6:40 am(40 minutes late) the embassy finally opened where we first gave in all necessary paperwork, followed by an attempt for fingerprints only to learn that the system was down.

At 8am the embassy told us ALL INTERVIEWS for the day had been cancelled due to the AC not working and the systems being down. All they told us was they would reach out to us at a later date via email and phone to reschedule the interviews. I WAS PISSED!!! My flight was supposed to leave that night and I just thought MORE WAITING.

After talking with friends, my husband and I decided just to show up the next day at the embassy hoping that we would be able to get in AND WE DID!!!

The following are questions that the Immigration Officer asked us:

1. How and when did you guys meet? (Through Facebook)

2. What did he think of me sending him a friend request?

3. Does he still have Facebook? (She asked for his email to see his page)

4. Do we still talk through Facebook?

5. What phone do I have? Then she asked him in spanish what phone and what phone he had.

6. How many times did I visit?

7. She asked him what did he do that made me want to keep coming back.

8. Do we have kids together?

9. How old are his kids?

10. Do they have the same mother?

11. Was he married before since he had two kids with two different women?

12. She asked to see our pictures , and asked questions about the wedding. - How come my family didn't go, and what did we do afterwards?

13. If he went to college, or at least finished high school?

14. What did I study in school, and then she asked him in spanish what I studied in school. (I graduated college way before I met my husband)

15. I took a binder of bank statements, conversations, and trips, and she asked me to give her anything that would help.

The lady was very friendly and the questions were asked almost as though we were having a conversation, you can tell she was trying to make it as comfortable as possible.

We were very upset though with how the embassy handled the situation on canceling interviews last minute and not even giving a time frame as to when they might be rescheduled.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY, whether I spoke to you or not, I was always reading everybody's comments and notes so I could learn from them. Thank you Saylin for your advice and encouragement along the way :)

God bless you all!!

Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo congratulations so happy for you both !  :dance:  (F)(L)(F)

Congratulations! Sorry to hear about the cancellation at the last minute! Glad you went back the next day and we're approved! Good luck and all the best!

Hi,ive been getting the "your case is in the process of termination..." since last friday and havent been able to login the payment portal since.I know its a good sign but I dont think its a good sign now thats its been like this for 5 days.has this ever happened to anyone else??????

It's fine. It will take a bit for them to input your case. No need to panic. It's in the WIKI for the NVC process!!!!

You should call NVC and find out what's wrong.

There's nothing wrong with the message "this case is in process of termination.." The case number was just literally assigned and they're inputting it into the system..It's a good sign, and no reason to call NVC. This is covered in the WIKI of the NVC process.

Saylin,

I've been traveling so I might have missed some discussion about new spreadsheet layout... But can't there in theory be 2 checklists (1 AOS and 1 IV)?

Hi again all,

I've been trying to do some updates on my timeline, but will have to look up some emails and bank statement withdrawals to see when payments were made etc. All this was going so smooth other than the ridculous wait at the Natiional Benefits Center, but then like many others we goofed up on the I-864. I'll call NVC next week and ask if there's any update on my checklist response yet.

It was 31 business days yesterday and I got the IV bill invoice email from NVC but up till now the invoice is not yet available online. I just spoke with a supervisor in NVC now and he said it will be available any time from now till few days. Am just so pissed off and tired of checking the website to see if its available to pay. This whole process is just fr

Frustrating.

We haven't even got an email from them. We've been ignored while they process everyone who filed afterwards and we're not quite sure why.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

How long should I expect to have our case "In the process of termination" ?? We got the email yesterday that we could go pay the fees but it still says in the process of termination. I've seen others say that it's just a few hours but it's been 24 now. I feel like the terminator is after me!!!

Ha, after reading the last few posts I guess it could be well over "a couple of hours"!! Ahhh well, I'll just keep checking 473 times a day, that probably helps.

Saylin,

I've been traveling so I might have missed some discussion about new spreadsheet layout... But can't there in theory be 2 checklists (1 AOS and 1 IV)?

Yeah, I already thought of that. Once someone does get 2 checklists, I can just copy the three columns and paste them right next to the first three. And if it happens and someone gets three checklists, I can do the same thing again. Or, maybe, to reduce the amount of growing columns (), I can just mention both (or all) checklists in one column. For example: 'AOS/IV' and '7/22/14 / 8/16/14'. Yeah, that would probably be less messy. Thanks for letting me talk it out :P:jest:
