Hello Guys!

I have one quick question:

Bc of my country official language is different that English translations are demanded. I am wondering if Marriage, Police, Military certificates must be translated by certified translator + public notary done or i need apostle for all and notary isn't enough? Or maybe maybe just translation with statement at the end is enough and apostle and notary is extra?

Below is requirements by my country for IV visa and translation is mentioned also. Just much people tell me i need apostle and i got confused.

8. TRANSLATIONS: Certified English translations must accompany all documents that are

not in English. Translations must be certified by a competent translator and sworn before a

Notary Public. All certificates must be less than 12 months old when presented on the

interview date.

Thanks you very much!

We had all of our documents that are in Arabic translated by the certified translator the Embassy had on the website. I wouldn't risk another 30 day wait and have them done right. Just my half cent worth. :D Good luck.

i think notary public must be enough and Apostle isn't demanded. When translator translates papers notary will make act where will be mentioned that translator is certified and everything is translated appropriate way.

in IV package instruction it is mentioned that all certificates must be no older than 12 month. So probably they meant for police and court and for such up datable certificates. (it is obvious if i married 2 years ago i cant get another and if i will get it will be same dates everywhere and same for birth and military)

What do you think about it guys?

There is something important apostilles about: "It is an international certification comparable to a notarisation in domestic law, and normally supplements a local notarisation of the document."

So, i think the apostille is the best choice. It depends on the embassy maybe, i know some bulgarians who had checklists about missing apostilles

(some another bg hadnt).

You can read more about apostilles here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille_Convention. If you have an apostille on the right document, it would be accepted for sure.

Good luck:)

OMG I saw this when I woke up this morning. How good is that. You so deserve a break. I am jumping for you. Won't be long and you guys will be together again - for good this time.

Xxxx

Thank you so much! I am really hoping NVC picks up the pace so your family can be together again for good, too!! Any word about the Singapore PCC or do you have to wait for a check list? :-/

August 6th is also the anniversary of my father-in-law's passing (12 years ago). For the interview date to be moved there is just incredible! He's looking out for us, we think. :-)

When you received the checklist for the AOS, was it via e-mail or by phone call? Did they tell you which date they checklist you for the AOS?
