Thanks for the reply. I am using our Canadian address as my mailing address and residence in that section, but, there is another item labeled country of domicile that I am still pondering over. Did you put Canada for that?

I won't have a job carrying over, but, I will have a job offer from another employer and I can also go down and get a driver's license if need be.

I used my Canadian address throughout the entire form because it was truthful and honest for our situation. I claimed Canada as my domicile because I used it for my US income taxes the last 17 years.

I was a little concerned about doing this but because I included a job offer I figured I would be in good shape in doing so. If you can, get the your US employer's offer in writing and include it with your AOS application stating in a cover letter that you by them at X.XX annual salary.

Thank you! Everyone here has been such an awesome cheerleader for us!

He's actually going to be coming home with me from Prague, so we're abke to end our anniversary trip and start our marriage properly!

Hello, again everyone! Just checking in after my weekly call to NVC and it appears that they're more or less randomly changing dates on "mail received". Last week when I called they said they had mail logged in on june 10th or 11th and the 25th. Now they say that they have mail received on june 24th and July 4th. Neither of the dates is the same as before... Just awesome.

On the plus side, I had a bit of a health scare this past couple of weeks but it turned out to be nothing. So that's a gigantic relief! I had visions of having gone through all of this and then having to quit the process while I had surgery or treatment in Canada.

Is your timeline updated?

Hi Soloenta

I absolutely agree to not do this again -- I think my husband would actually kill me. Unfortunately, we didn't realise how important the reentry visa was considering i'm away studying on a Federal student loan and was filing taxes. Looking back, it was silly not to look into it. Then again, we presumed we would be traveling back often. Either way, it's been a very stressful year thus far.

I hope this process goes smoothly -- your words are encouraging, especially thinking about my husband and daughter being separated. That being said, I don't deserve it to go more smoothly for me over anyone else.

I think it's fair actually you have gone through this process which depending on the situation ie: as being separated from your loved one is beyond stressful so I think it's only fair in your case. Others not so much and I get upset when I see people complaining about something taking 30 days when the whole USCIS process has only taken them 22 to 60 days now those people don't deserve the rest to be easy. I know I sound bitter but I AM! Hahahaaa.

Now for the important things in life, we need more emotes I say since Saylin is brilliant she can make us some, so we need a list. I will need one picking it's nose, one fainting, one with a pissed off look and arms crossed. How about the fainting one smacking it's forehead then fainting?

what would you like Robisons? Anyone else, ok that is my post for the day now run wiff it. :P

Hi MacauPDX,

It's crazy! After receiving an offer to study at Cambridge (one I never thought i'd get/couldn't refuse), we jetted off to the UK without thinking about a reentry permit. I thought having a Federal student loan and filing taxes was enough. Now I need to get back to the US to conduct my research. It's frustrating!

I hope everything goes well for you!

Hey... Snap!!! I just finished studying at Cambridge and am waiting to join my hubby in the states... small world! Wish we had done this process years ago so we wouldnt have to be separated, but I too under estimated the bureaucracy!

When I talked with NVc 2 days ago, they said they "received something from me by mail" July 11.

This was the AOS package I sent, but, she didn't have it down as AOS. She said, "we have something by mail from you scanned in, but I don't know what it is."

Does this mean I still do NOT have an official AOS scan date since their system wasn't identifying it?

Hello, again everyone! Just checking in after my weekly call to NVC and it appears that they're more or less randomly changing dates on "mail received". Last week when I called they said they had mail logged in on june 10th or 11th and the 25th. Now they say that they have mail received on june 24th and July 4th. Hi, nightingalejules.

Can you explain why the "mail received date" keep changing, and what is that mean?

I got different date each time I called, and Rep didnt give answer for the question why there is different date on my case.

I did my case with EP, sent on June 4th, the scanned date was June 20th, and it changed to June 27th last night when I called.

And the Rep told me they got three packages, but She couldnt tell me what is the third package beside AOS and IV packet...

Wait for da 30 Biz days, thats all about it...

I really feel frustrated with NVC's slow & unpredictable progression.

This verbal confirmation is hugely problematic. It allows NVC to arbitrarily change dates in a system to "fudge" things if workload is too high. :(

Thanks Savagechair, its much painful with NVC than USCIS I'd say...

And accroding to VJ's daily CC report, It seems not much chance to get CC by end of July then...

My husbands case was approved last year in november of 2013. I want to know do I have to call NVC in November to get an extension for this case? because I will be sending them the I-186 forum by jan of next year 2015. Or do I just call NVC and let them know that I will be sending them all the docs for I-186 in JAN 2015?
