FYI for those waiting for D261 and AOS fees, just called to give my husbands email address but mostly just to see if they would tell me anything.... And Julia (who was very nice) said due to the work load it was taking up to 20 business days to unlock the friggin D261! Oh man! She said she wouldn't be surprised if it was sooner but she doesn't know so she had to give that estimate. Yikes! That's a month just to get the d261. #######.

I did the same for my wife. Yes, I think that's correct.

Anybody in the medial field who can help me out here? There is a qs that r u a graduate of foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services I states but has not yet passed nrmp or it's equivalent. So I tick 'yes' and in explanation I wrote that 'I have passed step1 and step2ck. Step2 CS has to be given in United States so it will be given upon entry. Documentation can be shown at interview if required'. Is that correct?

I made a mistake. Dad told me he applied for a visa to America in 1996. Like 18 wars back. And it got rejected. I didn't even remember that. And I put 'no' under ever applying or being rejected. Would that be a problem? Because since I changed my name after marriage so my passport is changed anyways and I have a new passport number as well. What do u suggest? Should I call and correct or would they not consider this? I was 8 years old how was I supposed to remember :(

So, do you mean your dad applied for a visa for himself or for you as well?

If the latter, don't worry about it. Just mention it at the interview and all will be fine. If you want, if you haven't sent the IV package yet, then include a letter in it explaining the situation.

Technically, the answer should be no, and out of sympathy for you I would say it shouldn't be a problem. However, they will be able to trace the rejection based on the information you provided about your parents (their names), even though your married name is now different. You should attempt to clear this if it comes up at the interview. Maybe a more experienced member can give their 2 cents here..

You can call if you want, but I've never seen NVC re-open the DS-260 since they made the form mandatory for all.

Yes, just write a paragraph or two explaining about your dad having filed for a visa and it got rejected and that you forgot to include it on the DS-260 form. It's fine.

This must be a fake checklist but, I ant tell what they based this on? Does this mean AOS reviewed or DS260 reviewed?

It says right in the checklist that they received your DS-260. That's what the checklist is based on, the reviewing of the DS-260. Call to confirm it was accepted ;)

Hi guys this is my first post and I would be grateful if anyone can assist me with my question.

I received this email from the NVC on 15 July, 2014:-

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents which are indicated as missing or need additional nformation.

1) We received your Immigrant Visa Application; however, we have not received an Affidavit of Support form. You must submit an Affidavit of Support form before we can complete your case.

2) The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

….I submitted the AOS along with the civil documents on 29 May, 2014.

Mr. Indecisive here...

I'm still on the fence on the dreaded Country of Domicile question in Part 4, Item 5 under the Information on the Sponsor portion of form I-864.

I am a USC with PR status in Canada. I have lived here 8 years with my wife (she's Canadian citizen).

I have always kept ties back home (voter reg, mutual fund account, credit card, visit family annually) but I'm not sure if this means I am still domiciled in the US or not. I don't have any insurance there, no drivers license there, etc. I have recently went back and opened up a bank account, deposited money. I am caught up on my federal taxes in the US and have transcripts for the last 3 years.

Even though I think I will have sufficient evidence to prove that I am re-establishing domicile, I think I should put Canada in that section as that is where I am currently domiciled, in my humble opinion. Yay? Nay? I just don't want to put the US and have it come up as an issue during application process/interview stage.

The first bit is a false checklist based on them reviewing your IV package. The second bit sounds like a real checklist as they're saying one of the certificates wasn't to their standards.

Call to confirm.

I am the sponsor and have been living and working in Canada for over 17 years. I used my Canadian residence on the i864 which matches my wifes (beneficiary). My AOS was recently approved with this arrangement.

One thing I have going for me is that I work as a contractor for an American company and they gave me a contract stating they would employ me once I move there so I included that with my i864. Before our interview, I plan on getting a Cali drivers license, flipping over to the US payroll and getting an apartment so that I don't have problems during the interview in Montreal.
