Yep....very annoying. It wasn't your general post that at was offensive, it was the back and forth that you did after. Personally...I dont ask things before I find the answer myself and this is part of the reason why. But dont worry....its cool Maybe im just too tired and busy to try to make someone feel stupid because of not updating their signatures or posting things twice. Im too laid back and respectful....maybe because im American Oh and you know something very sad and disappointing? People are going to continue doing the same s$@t.....I hope you guys can cope

i hope you can see my time line here...still trying to get the hang of this. We just got our case number and now we are waiting for the DS-261to be available. I keep checking it online but nothing yet. We still have to get the official email as well.

Well, thank you! Besides what you listed, it's basically just me sitting in front of a computer Sometimes I go out and watch movies! *gasp*

In their case, no, it wasn't a false checklist as at the bottom there was a bit about 2013 tax information. The I-864 form itself was fine though.

For false checklists, it just states they're waiting for the entire package. If they go into details though, with x marks, then it's not false, but rather a real one.

If it's a false checklist it's usually like this if they just reviewed your AOS:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s

supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be

reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

To view which documents the applicant must submit to the NVC, please go to our website

immigrantvisas.state.gov.

^(That's for the civil docs) they haven't been reviewed yet...

There's a list at the bottom of it stating what is missing and what you need to send them . If you're not sure you can always ask .

Not a problem! To summarize:

False checklist: simply asking for a package as a whole

Real checklist: asking for something specific and/or, in the case of the AOS, saying a specific question was filled out wrong

In either case, calling up NVC to confirm would be a good idea, just to make sure you understand exactly what they want (or don't need, in cases for false checklists).

I am filling out my I-864 now. I am only sponsoring my husband who is listed in part 2. Do i list him again in part 3 under family number 1? In the example form it doesn't have this part filled out. So I didn't because i checked yes in part 3 question 1 to: I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in part 2.

You need to correct:

In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following...

[x] Item 7. The total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 must equal the number of immigrants listed in Part 3, Items 1 through 6.f. In addition, you must also verify that the total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 matches the number you entered in Part 5 Item1.

Hi Solenta! No we didn't expedite. We are both living abroad and got very lucky with the timing that we sent in our paperwork I guess! Other couples both living abroad are experiencing the same quick I-130 approval lately. Im unsure of the reason, but I feel so so lucky as I know lots of couples are apart during the long approval process!

We will have a slower NVC process. I was already told I will get a checklist because I am filling out I-864 and showing support with only assets as my income abroad does not count and I need to fill in 0.00 for my current income. They will ask for a joint sponsor and then let the embassy decide. My husband will also fill out I-864a with his assets.

Just curious when you got your case number did you keep checking for the Ds-261 to open up or did you wait for the email?

Nope, you don't include your husband in Part 3, under family members. You're doing it right

Hi Guys, its been past 30 business days after they received my DS-261. When I called, customer service rep says that I may get the IV invoice in 3-5 days. First they say up to 30 days and now another 3-4 business days. I am not quite sure if they really respond in 3-5 days. Is there a way escalate this? When I talk to customer rep, can we ask for supervisor or something? Did anyone has such experience?

You're right, you only need to check yes on part 3 question 1, you already listed in him in part 2. Leave all the other family members as none or N/A just to avoid a checklist .

Originally I got an Interview schedule by NVC for August 18, by mistake when I was creating an account for Loomis courier , by mistake I schedule an appointment for August 21st and immediately I cancelled that appointment. I called this morning to confirm that my original appointment was still schedule and they informed me that appointment was cancelled too (because of my stupidity ). Then she said we have an opening for August 5th, would you like to take that appointment? WOULD I LIKE TO TAKE THAT APPOINTMENT? LOL of course I said! so at the end it paid off.

No problem! Fingers crossed!

Called this morning right when they opened, got through on my first ring - got Kerry, she was very friendly. Asked to have our case looked at by a supervisor since it's been 30 days and still no IV so she checked it out and said she'd put it under review and said we should hear something shortly... fingers crossed!

So for anyone who's been waiting 30 business days since they've submitted ds-261, call them and ask to have a supervisor review the case!

We received our case number June 30th. I'm guessing we'll get access around the same time.
