Hi all! Congrats on CCs! I am growing a little worried... It has been almost 3 weeks since my case # was generated and I still can't pay the Fees.. I have a lawyer so I don't have to fill out the DS-26. My lawyer called last Friday and they said you still have to wait, you will get the email but until then you can't do anything. I am wondering who is still waiting to be able to just even login after getting a case number and is it normal that it is taking this long?! Thanks all!

I am still waiting :-(

Thank u lovely vj friends. And sorry for posting more than once. ( Internet troubles) lol

Its nice that you can be so nice abt it. Also kind of sad and pathetic how ppl are starting to be so negative. Ok...is posting things twice annoying...kinda. Not the end of the world tho. I hate the level of sarcasm thats starting to become so prevalent here. Either ppl are complaining or bashing others for what they post. Ill ride it out for now because of where I am in the visa process but wow.....this is becoming annoying. QUICKLY!!!

Marriage: 12/10/2013
Sent I-130: 1/23/14

NOA2: 6/10/14
Email that it was shipped to nvc: 6/23/14
Received by NVC: 7/1/14

Received/Submitted DS-261: 7/29/14

Submitted DS-260: 9/11/14

NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

APPT complete/Visa approved: 2/5/2015

Recap: Yesterday I received an AOS checklist. :ranting:

NVC claims the 2013 tax return was missing from my AOS package. In fact, we sent the full copy of the return which was 29 pages in all: 1040, all schedules, W7 ITIN application, election to treat NRA wife as a US resident, etc...

I called NVC last night and they confirmed I need to resend the tax return. There is apparently no way for someone to take a look in our envelope to make sure they didn't simply forget to scan or misplace the 29 pages making up our 2013 tax return. The only way is to request a supervisor review which would take 30 business days anyway. :ranting:

While NVC was sitting on my AOS package for the last 30 business days, our 2013 IRS transcript became available. That's 5 pages instead of 22 for 1040+schedules+etc so I reckon there is a higher chance it will be scanned properly into their system this time!

So this morning, I sent the following to NVC:

1- NVC AOS checklist cover sheet and letter

2- 2013 IRS transcript (downloaded from IRS website)

3- My 2013 W2

4- My 2013 1099

I included the W2 and 1099 as a precaution since we filed MFJ.

I hope they are not looking for a new I-864! The checklist PDF is confusing to me with all the little [X]'s under each line. I would really appreciate if people with experience reading these checklist PDFs could verify that I've sent everything NVC asked for. :)

This was the checklist text:

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist [x]
In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following... [x]

Yeah, the thing about AOS checklists is that, even though there's an x on each line, you have to see if anything specific is written under each part. If there's no specific question under a part, then that part was fine. And looking at your checklist, nothing was listed under any of the parts, so all they wanted was 2013 tax information. So, what you sent was fine

I understand when people get click-happy during internet problems, so it appears a bunch of times, but they also had posted a few times before that, without giving others a chance to answer. And it's often the same things with others. They'll post a question, and not even an hour or so later, re-post the same exact question. I'm fine if people wait at least a day before re-posting as sometimes posts can get lost in the flurry of posts on these monthly threads, but people who post within an hour or so drive me crazy. And when you've been here for almost 4 years and see it month in and month out, it's more than just "kinda annoying".

Not to mention, in like 90%+ of the times, people can get their answers by simply reading the first post and taking my advice (reading the wiki, looking at my spreadsheet/others' timelines and signatures, searching here on VJ for their answer, using Google, calling up NVC and asking, etc etc). It gets annoying real quick when people don't even use the FREE information that's provided to them, but instead want something even better than lawyers: instant answers to all their questions with no researching and provided free of charge.

And personally, I'd rather see sarcasm in here than whining and ranting. But, all of this is of course my personal opinion.

Your thumbs up gives me much needed peace of mind. The last 16 hours have sucked. I was disappointed that we missed the August interview window while NVC was using almost the full 30 business days to review our packages. With the checklist, we're now looking at a November interview at best. :(

I'm sorry you thought I was rude, it must be because I'm British. I said everyone, which includes everyone in this thread....What becomes annoying is people who take it so personally. As I said in my previous post- for the past few days I've seen the same questions repeated multiple times. There's loads of people that come to this thread everyday and don't even read the first post on the thread. Plus, people don't update their signatures, which once again, is very vital in this thread. I wasn't attacking anyone. I was simply making a post that was to everyone in general.

I'm so sorry to have annoyed you this morning, next time I'll make sure I don't.

Yep....very annoying. It wasn't your general post that at was offensive, it was the back and forth that you did after. Personally...I dont ask things before I find the answer myself and this is part of the reason why. But dont worry....its cool :) Maybe im just too tired and busy to try to make someone feel stupid because of not updating their signatures or posting things twice. Im too laid back and respectful....maybe because im American :) Oh and you know something very sad and disappointing? People are going to continue doing the same s$@t.....I hope you guys can cope :)
