hello everyone,

My husband forgot to send the copies of all the IV documents. He only sent all the originals. Does anyone know if we r going to get a checklist for not sending photocopies of documents..it"ll really be heart breaking if they send a checklist for photocopies..im sure they can make the copies themselves ??

I dont think u ll be checklisted for this

Think I'm gonna start issuing my own checklists for people not following directions on my form request sheet  Just added/updated 10 people and very few actually followed the instructions perfectly :ranting:

lmaoooo

Someone has probably asked this before, sorry if I am being repetitive. Can petitioner send Civil Documents to NVC on behalf of beneficiary from US mailing address?

yeppp it doesnt matter. as long as NVC receive them

I just got an AOS checklist email. :(

NVC claims they do not have our 2013 tax return. I guess either NVC or the attorney misplaced it. It's puzzling.

What's not clear is if I need to send the entire AOS package again with a new I-864, employment letter, pay stubs, and tax transcript... or just the 2013 tax transcript.

Hopefully Saylin or someone who's seen a lot of these checklists can offer advice about what I should re-send.

Here is the checklist text:

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist [x]
In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following... [x]
In Part 8, Sponsor's Contract, please correct the following... [x]
The Form I-864 we received was missing the following page(s). Please ensure you include all nine pages when you resubmit the form.

You must submit the following financial evidence:

So sorry to hear that :(. Such a bummer. I am pretty sure you only have to submit what's missing and not the whole package. May be you should check with the lawyer if he/she sent 2013 tax return?

The way NVC formats that PDF, it's really not clear what they are asking for. There is a small "[X]" under every single line of that document.
The lawyer says she sent the 2013 tax return copy along with everything else. I wasn't there when she sealed the Fedex envelope. There is no way to be 100% sure. I didn't have the IRS tax transcript at the time so I sent a copy of the return along with W2 and 1099. It was 29 pages in total: A joint return with W7 ITIN application, election to treat wife as US resident, foreign earned income exclusion for the wife's income, etc... How do you misplace 29 pages?
Insane!

This is really confusing. Some folks I have read where checklisted for leaving items blank on AOS. But the app says leave blank if it does not apply. I put N/A in the items that did not apply. I don't want to give wrong info.

The VJ Example Form on this site leaves many fields blank as well.

The form itself is fairly straightforward, but, there is conflicting information floating around that makes us freak out and over-analyze everything trying to avoid a dreaded checklist.

I mean, am I really supposed to put N/A under every box in the 6 slots reserved for Family Member 1, 2, etc?? None of those apply to us since I'm just sponsoring my wife. Only an idiot would read that form and think, well, maybe they forgot to fill in their family members, let's send them a checklist. lol

Thanks for your reply. :)

Just the biographic page, and no notary needed.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

 No but I think tomorrow early they will be on their way. Had some problems but found the solution to it when it came to copying the my husbands passport. I couldn't get my printer to print them but then I remembered my husband telling me a while ago if I can't fix something the normal way try Microsoft Paint and sure enough it worked :D So tomorrow morning they go.

I miss you to sweet heart been wondering how it's going. :)(F)(L)(F)

Great news glad you were able to fix it, keeping my fingers, eyes, toes crossed for you. I am busy, my daughter came for a visit for 3 weeks ( we are shopping and she is an expensive date, lol) my husband is coming next week for 10 days (we are going to celebrate our anniversary (L) ) Tomorrow I am having my medicals and I am trying to get an earlier interview with the Consulate.

Take care my friend and keep me posted. (F)(F)

Starting to fill out the I-864 form and am curious about leaving questions blank. Example...my wife has no middle name.

The form instructions clearly state If an item is not applicable or the answer is none, leave the space blank.

I had it ingrained in my brain to either use N/A or none, depending on the question, when filling out the I-130. I believe that i should just follow instructions on this form and leave them blank, but, I don't want to get checklisted. Tell me I'm over-complicating things and I should just leave them blank where applicable.

We followed the I-864 instructions and left the space blank if it was not applicable.

We did not get checklisted for this. (We got a checklist for something else).

Thanks :)

Oh so happy you have great company expensive or not ;) hahahaaa. Wow your husband will visit nice month for you and I hope all goes well at your medical exam. Will be praying you get an earlier interview.

Will keep you informed but I'm sad to say it will be a while for me unless God decides to send a miracle my way. :)

Let me know when the interview is and what time I'll be praying (you don't need it) that all goes well. :)(F) (L) (F)

CASE COMPLETE!!!!!

Still got a checklist (wrong number of immigrants, which is strange as it was not brought up on the last one!) however they are scheduling an Interview...

I got Recce (? sounded like a woman) and was told that i would be given a months notice but she wouldn't tell me when I would hear .... Although I was only tilt that he/she was not informed that the August interview slots were closed yet so fingers crossed.!

How long do you usually have to wait to be told the interview date?

Yaay!! Congratulations! Finally!! Now that they're done with yours, they can finally look at mine :D
