Our case has been at the NVC a while but I'm just now posting in one of these threads...

Our online IV status changed as of either Friday or Monday. Here's our current statuses:

DS-261 COMPLETED

AOS: PAID / NA

IV: PAID / COMPLETED / N/A

Does this generally mean they should be wrapping up our case in a few business days?

Since neither your signature nor timeline are up to date, when did you send in the AOS package? The IV package? The DS-260?

It's currently taking around 30 days from when you last submitted something for them to review it.

hey guys!! got a new question... i was wondering if i get the interview before i quit the NVC processing and if i go to the interview get approved... could i just go to the US get my green card and stuff and come back and keep visiting every 2 years??

No. The whole point of a green card is to become a US resident, thus you need to maintain US residency. This won't work if you're not living in the US.

Hi, I got my case number, invoice ID number and beneficiary id from NVC when I contacted NVC. (I am a petitioner living in USA and my spouse is an applicant living in India). I tried to give my email address and my spouse's email address to NVC. He told me to call next week to give him my email address and my spouse's email address. Should I call again to give NVC our email addresses so NVC will email us?

Second, my case number begins with NWT. (I didn't hear catching case number very well. I have trouble with my hearing.) I selected new Delhi for my spouse to get visa at US embassy in New Delhi. I researched on google and found out that NWD stands for New Delhi. So NWT is not correct? should I email NVC to give me legible case number, IIN and BIN?

Third, I was not sure which website I should start on with my case number (both NWT or NWD) so I used https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error. " What does it mean?

Maybe I used wrong website. Which website link (or what website) should I start to enter on with my case number, IIN and BIN that were given?

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

or

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

Can't find the information on NVC process.

I appreciate your help. Thanks.

It looks like you are quoting from the summary page. My status reads the same thing but I think its when the 'PAID' entry changes to N/A than case is complete.

Maybe someone here had this issue or someone with knowledge of this can help me. My husband is the petitioner and he hadn't filed taxes for 2011, 2012, 2013 until about a week ago (we had no knowledge of him having to do this while living abroad). Now my question is because he filed a 1040 and 2555ez (foreign earned income exclusion form) his total income on line 22 became 0 because of the 2555ez. Does this mean that on the i-864 part 6, question 13a, 13b, and 13c should all be zero? Yes a 2555ez was filed for each one of those years.

I appreciate your help. Thanks.

1. Call back again tomorrow and try giving the email addresses then. They're likely still inputting your case, so the operators may not be able to input anything while that's going on.

2. NWT isn't a valid consulate/embassy code, so it's NWD. You can see for yourself in this dropdown: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare.html

3. Doesn't matter which, they pretty much go to the same thing.

Yes, if he filed a 1040 and the total income line is $0, then that's what you'd put on the I-864. If you put any other number, it won't match the tax information, thus NVC will issue a checklist.

It's currently taking around 30 days from when you last submitted something for them to review it.

AOS Fee Paid 14 Feb 2014

IV Fee Paid 10 Mar 2014

AOS mailed in mid April - right after taxes.

IV mailed in mid May

DS-260s completed the first week of June except for one child that was completed June 25th

I don't have the exact dates here unless they're online some place I haven't looked.

So does this mean that my NVC timeline might complete in around 3 weeks?

You're probably looking at the end of July for all cases to be completed, as long as there's no checklists. Have you called to ask the status on all the packages? I'm assuming both the AOS and IV packages should be reviewed already.

The IV fee has nothing to do with the AOS fee. Please look at the flowchart linked in my signature below and read the wiki I wrote as well, also linked in my signature.

Hi all,

I am just putting everything together and planning to deal with backlogged NVC :) I have searched extensively but couldn't find a conclusive answer for this question anywhere. So people who have experienced it already please let me know: if I (petitioner) can submit the DS 260 on behalf of my wife (beneficiary) and sign it as well since you have to print the confirmation page?

People who have done it themselves without getting into a problem or without getting a checklist please let me know. Your help will be extremely appreciated. Thanks!
