They lack compassion, and their communication skills are horrendous. This better be resolved due to their mistakes. I'm not biting another "30 business days" because of their silliness. I still believe people who work there are a joke.

I hope so, and that you're also somewhat compensated for their mistakes. Such as an earlier interview date.

The stupid checklists they create is what gets them in the hell hole of a backlog as well. They're shooting themselves in the foot really..

I sometimes wonder if NVC is creating more work by giving us unnecessary checklists so they'll have enough things to do (job security).

I know! This is my first piece of luck in a process that has been completely heartbreaking. My heart (and indignation) goes out to those of you waiting since June. Please know I wish you all the best! And if you haven't, get your Senator involved; it can't hurt...

Also, who even knows, I'll believe it when I can actually make the payment...

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate and congrats to you, am happy for you. I'll wait till Thursday to see if my IV bill will be available, because it will be 30business days on Thursday. I pray this week, there will be good news to all who are waiting to hear from NVC.

Right, first time phoning NVC. Got through on 7th redial. Thank god for Vonage and free calls to the US. :P I don't want to think about what the phone bill would be with BT.

On hold, hoping to find out if my IV and AOS packets have been scanned. They were delivered on the 7th of July according to the tracking on the parcel. Kinda nervous. I hope I don't get the grumpy ones I see you guys talking about. :help:

Thought I'd update, in case anyone might be interested.

Just off the phone with an agent called Jim, who was rather formal, but not too grumpy. Spent 40 minutes on hold, by the way. Not too bad, I guess.

IV and AOS packets ''left the mail room and went to review'' (his exact words, I'm guessing that's the same as being scanned??) on the 11th. He said they're being inundated by USCIS with approved cases, then he gave me the whole 30 business days or approximately 6 weeks spiel... :/

At least now I know they definitely have them and are at least planning to process them.

Congrats. Your DS-261 was submitted June 10th. Does it mean NVC is working in a random manner? What's happening to those of us who submitted before June 10th.

The NVC just doesn't make any sense. I'm happy for you -- it's great that you're moving forward! Get that police certificate in the mail. :)

At the same time, what about the people who have been waiting since May? (I'm not one of them; I submitted my DS-261 a couple of days after you.)

Did you submit an expedite request or ask for help from a senator or representative?

I'm not really sure what they are doing with our case.

Last they sent a notice requesting civil documents but the notice didn't contain a check list just said go to this website to see what documents are needed.

Today my wife called them and they said they had received a package on our file on the 2nd June but had not got around to processing it, and their target is 30 business days (tomorrow).

Sigh coming up on 4 months since NOA2.

Can anybody help me, please? I wrote the following:

Hello to all!

So, we have sent both the AOS and IV packet. We received RFE for AOS and my husband already sent it on the 5th of July. The tracking number says it arrived on the 7th. When my husband called them, they said they cannot review the IV packet before the AOS is complete. Is that true?

Well, on the 9th of July we received another check list saying the following:

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:

The NVC has received the requested DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application. However, we are still waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support. Please return the requested information so that we may complete your case.

_10 - BRAZIL CIVIL POLICE CERTIFICATE:
Certificates of Good Conduct (Atestados de Bons Antecedentes) related to possible violations of state law are available to persons 18 years of age and older from the Secretaria de Seguranca Publica in each of Brazil's states. Because each state maintains a separate database of violations of state law, a prospective immigrant must obtain a separate record from the Secretaria de Seguranca Publica of each state in which he or she has resided within the past five years.
So, I called today and they said one of the police certificate is missing (because in Brazil we need to send 2 types, the civil and the federal), but I did send both with their respective translations. My husband even did a cover letter specifying all the documents. I told them I had sent both of them and the lady said she was going to ask for a verification in the IV packet. But they said above on the F item that only the AOS was missing to complete the case! I am so confused! Has it happened to anyone already in this group? If they said they need to complete the AOS before the IV, why are they asking for a police certificate I have already sent?
Thank you so much in advance for any comments on this issue.

Just wondering, was your case expedited at USCIS? You really flew through!

Nope, I just mailed the application and waited. I think it depends on which office the application ends up to. I also believe that there was a time when USCIS was able to clear a 3 or 5 months backlogs in 1 month time. I guess mine was fortunate enough to be included in those speedy batch.
