Did you ever have a lawyer? That sounds quick! People from June are still waiting. Anyways congrats, if it is not already available then it will be tomorrow for sure.

No lawyer. Thanks for the congrats, I know from personal experience that it will make some people who have been waiting longer feel discouraged; I am sorry not my intent. I actually do think that it may be from my Senator's call. I spoke to a woman from the Senator's office just today, and she said that when she called they just gave her a stock answer (it takes time, etc) but she said that she requested supervisor review and a written update. I don't know if it mattered or not, but both times my Senators have called, I happened to receive notice from NVC the following day.

Anyway, not even sure if it's real yet; I'll let you all know. thanks for the positive vibes, and I am sending plenty to all of you as well!

Right, first time phoning NVC. Got through on 7th redial. Thank god for Vonage and free calls to the US. :P I don't want to think about what the phone bill would be with BT.

On hold, hoping to find out if my IV and AOS packets have been scanned. They were delivered on the 7th of July according to the tracking on the parcel. Kinda nervous. I hope I don't get the grumpy ones I see you guys talking about. :help:

You guys, is this even possible?? I was just invoiced for the IV fee today; I just filled out the DS-261 on July 7th. I don't know if it's real; I got the email with the invoice, but still can't pay it. Same thing happened with my AOS bill though, it became available a day after I got the email.

Anyone else get their IV invoice so quickly? I feel like this is too good to be true. I did have both my Senators call, maybe that's why?

That is super fast!!!! 4working days to issue IV fee after submission of DS-261. Seems am reading and hearing this for the 1st time. Strange and different things are just happening with NVC. Lots of people that submitted DS-261 in June are still waiting for IV bill. Can't believe this!!!! Congrats to you, I wish NVC can just speed up with this process. Edited by EOC4ever

I am no Saylin, but that has been normal in my case. For my AOS fee I received the invoice and couldn't actually pay until the following day. I called and they said that was normal. I also received my IV invoice today, and can't pay it online yet. I am going to wait until tomorrow morning, and then if it isn't available; I'll call. But, yes, I think it's normal, so congrats!!

I am pretty sure Senator's call did the trick. And if they asked for supervisor review then it is definitely the case someone worked on your ds261 and unlocked IV. Congrats! It should definitely be available tomorrow if you received official communication from NVC.

I know! This is my first piece of luck in a process that has been completely heartbreaking. My heart (and indignation) goes out to those of you waiting since June. Please know I wish you all the best! And if you haven't, get your Senator involved; it can't hurt...

Also, who even knows, I'll believe it when I can actually make the payment...

When you put it this way than its quite possibl senator call seem to have made the difference. If they insist on more information than they can get more done but most often they settled for the stock reply.

They lack compassion, and their communication skills are horrendous. This better be resolved due to their mistakes. I'm not biting another "30 business days" because of their silliness. I still believe people who work there are a joke.

Ditto. We would be okay with a September interview, but it's not knowing and these silly little things happening. Our case was simple and straight forward. The NVC somehow has a way to make it more complex. The stupid checklists they create is what gets them in the hell hole of a backlog as well. They're shooting themselves in the foot really..

Supervisor has been transferred to a different department!? :wow: Oh, No! :(

If I were you, I would send them a checklist document (or any explanation why you can't supply what they're requesting) just in case. You might end up waiting for a long time for a supervisor's review. :clock:

It might be faster this way even though you'll need to wait for up to 30 business days (45 days or 1 month and half).

However, I hope a supervisor takes care of it this week. Fingers crossed! :)
