That's 18-fold increase in incoming volume. If true, then we're in for months of waiting unless NVC/DOS anticipated it and planned for it. They don't seem to have ground to a complete halt, so maybe they did implement contingency plans.

To be honest, I don't buy the 22k / day number. This was attributed to a quote by NVC's Kim Kelly and was thrown around about a month ago on VJ and other sites. I looked around and never found a reliable source for this quote.

Looking at the USCIS official trends for immediate relative I-130 completions (http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=4&charttype=1), 22k / *week* is a more believable figure. Historically, 6k / week would be the bottom when USCIS was sitting on petitions. In 2012 and early 2013, USCIS was shipping 12k petitions per week to NVC.

I suspect we're looking at a 4x increase from recent lows and maybe up to 2x more than NVC is used to to handling.

But as I said before, I know nothing. :)

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Here's the business days calculator that someone posted earlier: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/workdays.html

I think I'll add it to my signature. I've been obsessed with it since someone posted it on here. Very Helpful!!

Thanks:)! I noticed my DS261&AOS fee date was not June6, but June5:)

I forgot that Japan time is earlier than US hehe.

Well I think that is the way it's supposed to be let me give you an example.

Your name is Pakis Tani you get married and your name is now Pakis Tani Brown you have a baby so

the baby would be (making up a name) Rose Brown Tani if not mistaken. I know it's like that for South America. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong. :) I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I found out last Friday on the phone that I have got a checklist for my AOS package :crying:

She told me I would get a computer generated email within Saturday or Sunday. :clock:

The email will have the cover letter with bar code as well as all the items to fix.

Offcourse I received nothing so far. I expect them to be late as usual. So I am thinking: well, here comes another 30 frekin business days :protest:

Do you think it is a good idea to save time by calling the NVC again and get all the info through phone. and use the original AOS cover sheet with bar code?

Or should i just wait for the email?

Morning... I just called NVC to see if my AOS packet has been scanned into the system(of course it hasnt) and I also asked abt my DS261. It was completed on July 3 but the rep says it shows in their system as completed on july 9. I never went back in to access it because of horror stories. Happy Monday. My week started off a bit ordinary when I was driving to work and rock hit my windshield and cracked it. Boo. Then, I got to work and my boss told me that the higher paying job I have been doing for the last 6 months will not be extended because the person I was covering is coming back. No biggie because i will just go back to my normal duties, but slightly less money.

I hope this week brings good luck at NVC for everyone with lots of CCs, interview dates and unlocked invoice fees! :dancing:

Hi friends,

Just needed to email you all as you are the only ones who understand.

I have had a TERRIBLE morning. Came down with a bad cold last night so feel ####### anyway. We all got up this morning at 4.30 am (which I am used to anyway as I take my son swim training at that time five times a week) to take Andy to the airport as he left to go back to New York and I was just crying like a baby. I am usually so strong and have to be for the children. I settled down by the time we got to the airport. He was very supportive but I feel so bad for him. He is all alone again while I have the children and dogs here.

After yesterday's Checklist and now being separated again it was all just too much. We were all quiet on way home. I think the children - ages 13 and 15 - really felt it this time. Went back to bed and slept for a couple of hours.

Oh well life and this nightmare go on! I will feel better tomorrow.

Thanks for listening and I wish you all good luck this coming week.

Xxx

Lose yourself in a good book...set a 30 day personal goal.

The time will fly and then soon you won't have enough time to to get all your final moving details done... :)

Hi Everyone,

I have a question after reading the Wiki from Saylin which I hope someone can answer. There she wrote:

"Once your I-130 has been approved from USCIS, it will be sent to NVC (a part of the Department of State). Depending what service center the I-130 is coming from, this can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks.

You won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out."

But what does this mean when the NVC state webpage reads:

"You have come to this webpage because you received a letter or email from the NVC directing you here after the NVC received your approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)."

Is it just a way to push them a bit, or will nothing at all happen if we only wait for them to contact us?

The first piece of correspondence you'll get from NVC is what I call the initial information package. It contains your case numbers and information on NVC. This only received a few days (or longer) after a case number is assigned.

The point of calling NVC is to find out when they receive your case from USCIS as well as finding out your case number right away (as there's a delay between it being assigned and the email being sent out). And if they have no email addresses on file, then they can only send it out by snail mail, which can take weeks to receive, thus creating an even longer delay.

But calling is absolutely optional. You do not have to make one single call to NVC whatsoever during the entire process. I (and others) only recommend calling to stay as up to date as possible on your case, so as not to waste any time.

Morning... I just called NVC to see if my AOS packet has been scanned into the system(of course it hasnt) and I also asked abt my DS261. It was completed on July 3 but the rep says it shows in their system as completed on july 9. I never went back in to access it because of horror stories. Is this something I should dispute/ ask for supervisor?

I've noticed there's usually a few days between when you submit it and when NVC shows as completed. Since the 4th was a holiday and the 5th and 6th was the weekend, that only gives about 3 business days between when you submitted it and when they see it as completed, which isn't a big difference at all. I doubt calling would do anything as they really can't change that date in their system.

Hello.

my husband paid aos fees june 11 and he sent the aos package june 16 and till now we're waiting the IV Application Processing Fees to be invoiced .is it normal? he called the nvc and they told him that its under review recall 2 weeks later.

Not sure why you mentioned the AOS as it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the IV track. Please read my wiki and view the flowchart I put together to understand the two tracks at NVC.

Remember, it's currently taking about 30 business days from the DS-261 being submitted to the IV fee being invoiced. So, instead of mentioning the unrelated AOS track, perhaps you should mention when you completed the DS-261.
