Ha! Isn't that right. Thanks very much. My dad is self employed so his income varies greatly each year - I think this is what has thrown them off. I don't think they could make this process any more difficult. And I have been through it myself in Australia - was way easier and more streamlined.

I am feeling so discouraged! So down and upset! My husband and I submitted our DS261 May 27th and we have still not herd anything. I called two weeks ago and they told me give it two more weeks and I should be able to pay the IV fee. I just dont get why it is taking so long and I see some people who were in the same place as my husband and I have interviews scheduled. I am feeling so down right now and I dont want to call and yell at NVC, but how is this ok!

I just needed a place to vent it out.

Call I felt the same way they told me to wait and three days later I was able to pay the IV/DS-260. So please call I bet it's just about ready for you.

Forgot remind them how long it's been and if they don't give you a good answer ask for a supervisor.

You know I respect you very much but I disagree that it's acceptable in Egypt to lie. My husband would rather die than lie to anyone and he does not continue a friendship with those that do. I don't think he is an exception to the rule either.

I believe we are all human and there is no people from any country that accept lying and any other bad habit as socially acceptable. Koko is just scared and I do understand why and when your feeling like that you just can't think straight.

I have committed two sins in the post you referred to. First, I jumped to an unfounded conclusion and the OP had every right to scream his head off at me, and yet he chose to be gracious in his response and even accepted my apology. Second, and worst still, I used the harsh word of lying when I really meant mis-representation, which I'm afraid is becoming second nature to us in this neighborhood that we don't even realize it's wrong! To me, doing a half-### job when one is trusted to perform it is a form of lying. So is cutting people right and left in traffic, or parking illegally, or omitting cash dealings from tax returns, or cheating in an exam when the proctor is deliberately turning a blind eye to the entire exam hall. The examples go on and on and I see them everywhere here in Kuwait. Whenever I confronted an offender, I was met with incredulity and outright hostility.

I would be saving literally hundreds of thousands of dollars if I just delay my US immigration by 3-5 years, but it would be too late for my kids as by then they would hit high school and will start getting corrupted by the mentality of "It is not wrong if everybody do it." I'd rather see them struggle for an honest living in the US than a socially corrupt and extreme easy living here in Kuwait. Myself and my wife have already become social outcasts here in Kuwait. I pray your husband is not in Egypt.

Our AoS and IV docs were delivered to the NVC on Friday!!!! We will probably will get a scan date later this coming week! Moving forward!

Any predictions how bad, bad will get? It seems last week saw only two days worth of NVC packet processing. Mine was scanned June 13th and it seems it would be August before it's touched at this rate!

Dear Afroukhs,

We have been through the exact same thing! We know exactly how you are feeling. It is definitely anxiety filling waiting for a response. I would call the NVC and just ask about the document status and if anything else is required. If everything is in order just stay positive and patient. It will come through in due time. We have always told each other, in this frustrating long wait to complete the case, the time it takes compared to the future we will have together is no time at all.

You don't have to yell at NVC when you call them, it just seems like maybe they have forgotten about a week of us. It's been over 30 business days, so you have the right to call them and request that someone looks into the situation. A few of us have had to do that so far, and apparently they had to push through our DS-261s (whatever that means) and they say we should get the invoice next week. I also sent them an email, you could try that. You're right, it doesn't make sense why it's taking so long. It totally sucks.

I am not really going to yell at them, I am just very frustrated.

I respect you even more now my friend. Yes my husband is in Egypt but he is exactly like you. He would not in any way take a dime from anyone if it wasn't his. I have seen him in dealings return money when people have made mistakes and go after a man whos wallet fell on the ground and handed it to him. He is the most honest man besides my father and brother that I know. He wouldn't lie if his life depended on it and is one of the reasons I love him so much.

Don't bother, they should have in their systems what was wrong with the package.

Thanks for the reply Saylin, do you think it would do any harm to send a copy of the letter in anyways? I figured if they don't need it, they can just throw it out. I just want to be careful of sending anything in before they actually request it.

Not sure, I've wondered how people know scan dates? Do I have to call NVC and ask?
