Hello,

I have a quick question for you all and I apologise if this has already been answered in the thread. To give a brief overview - I was living overseas with my husband until the end of May when I returned to the US. I am actively seeking employment here but have not had any offers as yet. Becasue of this, we were required to use my mom as a joint sponsor. However, we just received a letter back to say my mom does not meet the income requirements (she is under by about $400) and they have requested we have my dad fill out an I-864A with his income information. I have spoken to several representatives at NVC and done a bunch of research but keep coming across different answers. Here is my question - my parents HOUSEHOLD/JOINT income is well above the poverty guidelines for their household size. Will this be acceptable or is the joint sponsor required to solely meet the income requirements independently?

Thank you to anyone who has advice, suggestions or experience to share.

Cheers!

Thank You!!! :)

Thanks!! I have updated my timeline, Checklist for AOS was scanned on 2nd June.

Well I think that is the way it's supposed to be let me give you an example.

Your name is Pakis Tani you get married and your name is now Pakis Tani Brown you have a baby so

the baby would be (making up a name) Rose Brown Tani if not mistaken. I know it's like that for South America. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong. :) I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I believe you need your dad as a Co-sponsor they want to make sure the Beneficiary does not need public assistance so why not just go ahead and have your dad fill it out. That's what we did my father is the sponsor and my mother the Co-sponsor and actually only needed my father. Just play along with the idiots I mean NVC. :D(F)(L)(F)

You must always say the truth because they know about it anyway. They want to know if you will be truthful or not so put only the truth in the DS-260 and every other form. If there is a space to explain then explain it to them. I think you'll be just fine so don't worry. :)

I know that i must say the truth

But i dont know if i must say what happend in this form or in other words if they dont need this answer or they want other answer

Thats all

But thanksss alot

You know I respect you very much but I disagree that it's acceptable in Egypt to lie. My husband would rather die than lie to anyone and he does not continue a friendship with those that do. I don't think he is an exception to the rule either.

I believe we are all human and there is no people from any country that accept lying and any other bad habit as socially acceptable. Koko is just scared and I do understand why and when your feeling like that you just can't think straight.

Hi friends,

Just needed to email you all as you are the only ones who understand.

I have had a TERRIBLE morning. Came down with a bad cold last night so feel ####### anyway. We all got up this morning at 4.30 am (which I am used to anyway as I take my son swim training at that time five times a week) to take Andy to the airport as he left to go back to New York and I was just crying like a baby. I am usually so strong and have to be for the children. I settled down by the time we got to the airport. He was very supportive but I feel so bad for him. He is all alone again while I have the children and dogs here.

After yesterday's Checklist and now being separated again it was all just too much. We were all quiet on way home. I think the children - ages 13 and 15 - really felt it this time. Went back to bed and slept for a couple of hours.

Oh well life and this nightmare go on! I will feel better tomorrow.

Thanks for listening and I wish you all good luck this coming week.

Ha! Isn't that right. Thanks very much. My dad is self employed so his income varies greatly each year - I think this is what has thrown them off. I don't think they could make this process any more difficult. And I have been through it myself in Australia - was way easier and more streamlined.

Thanks heaps!

I am feeling so discouraged! So down and upset! My husband and I submitted our DS261 May 27th and we have still not herd anything. I called two weeks ago and they told me give it two more weeks and I should be able to pay the IV fee. I am feeling so down right now and I dont want to call and yell at NVC, but how is this ok!

Hello everyone!

My wife and I have been reading VisaJourney forums to help us get through our own visa journey. Thank you everyone as you all have been the support we needed through this!

I have a few questions regarding procedures after the interview.

My wife finally had her case completed at the NVC on 7/11 and the interview is schedule for the 12th of August. Yay :) We are planning a trip away to visit her family on the 26th of August.

-Will she get back her passport in time for our trip?

-How long does it normally take to get the passport back?

Thank you!

I have a questions about Ds-260 ?

In previous us travel part

The question is

Have you ever been refused a us visa , been refused admission to the united states , or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entey ?

What can i do

I have been refused to get b1-b2 visa to visit my wife at the last christmas ? -Tourism visa-

-the officer at the embassy told me : if u want to see ur wife at the christmas and ur frist anniversary

She must came to me but i cann't go to her and i must wait for my cr1 visa to be issued -

And she actually came to visit me

And on 2012 i have get denail decision from uscis for k1 visa

i will answer this question by yes and write this or by no

Helpppp me becouse the ds 260 will staret 2day and i don't know what to do ?

The exact same thing happened with my husband, he applied for a Tourist visa to come visit me, and was denied, and told he needs to do the CR1. I plan on explaining the whole story on the DS-260 form itself. Put as much information as it will allow you, more information is better than not putting enough info. Explain the 2012 one as well.

Cheers!

Ok, if I understand correctly, your mom's income alone does not qualify, and your dad's income alone does not qualify, so you would have your mom fill out the I864 (like you already did) and then also fill out the 1864A with your dad's info, and these can be added together to qualify as a household. Did they file their taxes married filing jointly? Do you have their tax transcripts from the IRS?

I am feeling so discouraged! So down and upset! My husband and I submitted our DS261 May 27th and we have still not herd anything. I called two weeks ago and they told me give it two more weeks and I should be able to pay the IV fee. You don't have to yell at NVC when you call them, it just seems like maybe they have forgotten about a week of us. It's been over 30 business days, so you have the right to call them and request that someone looks into the situation. A few of us have had to do that so far, and apparently they had to push through our DS-261s (whatever that means) and they say we should get the invoice next week. I also sent them an email, you could try that. You're right, it doesn't make sense why it's taking so long. It totally sucks.

Dear Afroukhs,

We have been through the exact same thing! We know exactly how you are feeling. It is definitely anxiety filling waiting for a response. I would call the NVC and just ask about the document status and if anything else is required. If everything is in order just stay positive and patient. It will come through in due time. We have always told each other, in this frustrating long wait to complete the case, the time it takes compared to the future we will have together is no time at all.

Best wishes!

Kelly and David

I am feeling so discouraged! So down and upset! My husband and I submitted our DS261 May 27th and we have still not herd anything. I called two weeks ago and they told me give it two more weeks and I should be able to pay the IV fee. I just dont get why it is taking so long and I see some people who were in the same place as my husband and I have interviews scheduled. I am feeling so down right now and I dont want to call and yell at NVC, but how is this ok!

I just needed a place to vent it out.

Xxx

I know how difficult it is, just got off Skype with my husband and he asked me if I could come for a visit. He can't come to me so I would have to go but I can't. :( I'm in such a bad situation, I have to take care of my parents but I can't work and my job pays very well starting at 60 and up and hour with my work history etc. But you have to think your so very close can't be more than two months until your together for ever so hang in there and we are here for you when ever you need us. :) ((((((((((MSC))))))))))
