@MoBar65

Thanks, I did check the CEAC website, AOS still says "paid"... I'll check again on Monday.

I think (hope) interviews at the South African embassy come up quite quickly. Not many of us. And I have my heart set on leaving latest end of September.

Will definitely be phoning on Monday. And worried about this checklist item. They stated line 11 on the I-184A does not agree to the w2. I have no idea what was inputted by my husband for his step-mom. His step-mother files jointly with his father, so I'm sure that's where the problem has arisen.

Only 420 odd days to get to this point........

Quick tips to share for every one waiting out here, my fellow NVC-ians:

My documents got scanned on June 2nd.

My IV package got accepted 10th July (that is 25 business days).

I called the NVC 12 hours ago and she told me my AOS package has a checklist (after 27 business days) and I should receive a computerized email any time soon this weekend.

Anyway, in case they scanned all your papers on the same date, that doesn't mean that they will respond later regarding all your papers at the same day.

Why? because the NVC has three different teams working on three separate sets of tasks with three separate (but consecutive) timing.

The first team to finish is the checklists team, the second is the IV packages team and the third is the AOS package team since it takes longer to process.

That is why guys who scanned their checklists on June 2nd with my documents started getting CCs (Case complete) June 8th (22 business days)

Hope this info can do good to any body waiting out here

I mean absolutely no offense to you; this is 100% anger towards NVC. That is complete and utter BS that you got your IV invoice so quickly. You submitted the DS-261 almost a month later than LRKO, Lottry, me, and I'm sure many others, and you already have your IV fee paid before we get the invoice. It's one thing that NVC has the stupid procedure about people with lawyers getting both fees at the same time... but then to arbitrarily award people special timelines. That makes no sense at all. I work at a call center, I'm extremely nice on the phone, I complained nicely but firmly twice, nothing happened. Guess I got the wrong agents. :wow:

Ok, rant over. I'm happy your process is moving along spaghettikat. Enjoy some of that LA sunshine for me.

Thank you! I needed that rant too!

Congrats to those moving on, but a little fairness from the NVC would be appreciated....

My husband called NVC yesterday and was told the usual 30 business days stuff. My DS-261 is 26 business days already. My AOS is 20 business days. Hopefully I should get my IV bill next week Thursday July 17th which is 30 business days and I should hear something about my AOS on July 25th. This process really sucks, so tired of waiting and hearing 30 business days. Wedding anniversary is next month, no hope of celebrating it together except on Skype. It really sucks to be apart from our loved ones. Please permit me to rant a bit.

So finally AOS package was scanned in system on 11 July. Submitted on 3rd July. 8 days later :( but oh well atleast it wasn't lost. It's so unfair that just 'complaining' to them does the job and we have been waiting for IV since like forever. When I came to Nvc I was so sure to have cc by July and I included one checklist time. But now since we are here it's pure torture. Can't we do something about it? Anybody who is good at writing out stuff can't they write a complaint like we did with Uscis? Maybe we don't have facts and figures but maybe they still take into consideration. Problem is majority of jan to June 2013 who faced this delay have cleared up Nvc stage. So now the rest of us are here with ppl who filed later so they care a lil less so we might not be as enthusiastic as we were with Uscis campaigns. And I m sure that even if the voices get heard we would be doing if for ppl after us and not for ourselves. Just like what happened with Uscis.

Thank you, I hope we can get August interview and she can be here by September. I was really waiting for CC because my travel plans to see her were on hold. It's Ramadan and we wanted to spend together. Now I will be traveling soon.

Does anyone know if it helps if I go to interview with her?

Btw I got CC email as well today.

Hi baltoro,

Islamabad embassy permits the petitioner to accompany the beneficiary during interview. But it is not mentioned anywhere whether it is walk in by showing the proof of citizenship or it is required to make a prior appointment. If you come to know the procedure please share with me.

My spouse will send an email to embassy for this query. If we will get the response ,i will post here.
