This weeek I obeserved that NVC completed the cases for those people mostly who had checklist scanned by june 2,3,4,5 till 16....

Im the 4th ,I got nothing...

We can point to the I-130 backlog data and extrapolate it's the cause of the NVC slowdown, but there's nothing concrete we can use to show that there's not just correlation but also causation. There's also nothing official that demonstrates how USCIS catching up on petitions has caused an extremely unfair divergence from the first in, first out processing policy (e.g., Jan 2013 filers awaiting CC with Jan 2014 filers). The case can definitely be made, I just don't think it will be as strong as we could make it at USCIS. Perhaps it's time to submit FOIA requests for NVC documentation or statistics?

I agree with you and what the heck is FOIA? Hahahaa I have no clue. :D

Freedom of Information Act. Great way to get hold of public information that the government doesn't publicize -- like lovely emails USCIS officials exchange about the I-130 backlog, for instance :) Some of them have been posted around VJ. We could make similar requests for information from NVC to get hard proof of the clusterf- there.

Hey saylin..about the ds 261 my wife called nvc n they told her to resubmit it and add her as agent.is it ok.m i going to be delayed.

Well, yes, it'll delay your case as NVC goes by the last submitted date of your DS-261. Again, I repeat what I said earlier, the petitioner does NOT need to be the agent; it's fine if the beneficiary is. Just make sure both email addresses are on file.

Butshe resubmitted it on the same day.so is it going to be dalayed.

Just by a few hours then. Again, NVC goes by the last submitted date of the DS-261.

i got my checklist....this is a mess and i am totally devastated!! i was told by NVC and other people that NVC doesnt require police clearance for mumbai consulate....my checklist is asking for original marriage certificate AND police clearance!!! i do not have a police clearance here in the US....it is with my husband in India and he only has one copy of it....it will take a week to get to NVC and then another couple of days for them to scan it in and then 30 business days....i hate this!!!!

i got my checklist....this is a mess and i am totally devastated!! i was told by NVC and other people that NVC doesnt require police clearance for mumbai consulate....my checklist is asking for original marriage certificate AND police clearance!!! i do not have a police clearance here in the US....it is with my husband in India and he only has one copy of it....it will take a week to get to NVC and then another couple of days for them to scan it in and then 30 business days....i hate this!!!!

Call them and confirm. PCC is not required for mumbai. My checklist also showed pcc but it's not required. The only thing they want is the marriage certificate.

07-09-13 - Application received at Chicago Lockbox NOA1

01-03-14 - Transfer notice to Nebraska

01-06-14 - Application received at Nebraska

03-13-14 - NOA2 notification

03-25-14 - NVC received case

04-24-14 - Case number and IIN received over the phone

05-02-14 - Paid AOS Fees

05-06-14 - Sent AOS package

05-07-14 - AOS Fees showed up as paid

05-08-14 - AOS package received at NVC (Scanned on may 8th)

05-08-14 - IV Bill showed up and paid

05-12-14 - Sent IV package overnight

05-13-14 - IV package received at NVC (Scanned on may 15th)

06-05-14 - AOS Checklist for not having N/A written for "Place of Residence" (checklist info received over the phone).

06-09-14 - AOS Checklist - I864EZ delivered today.

06-11-14 - I864EZ got scanned today.

06-13-14 - Sent original marriage and birth certificate out to NVC. (Received at NVC 06-16-14)

06-16-14 - received fake checklist asking for 864ez and marriage certificate

06-20-14 - Marriage and Birth certificate scanned

07-23-14 - Case complete (Talked to Don at NVC on 7/24) -- Received CC email 7/30

08-01-14 - Interview date assigned (Sept 9th)

08-05-14 - Received Interview Letter via email

09-10-14 - Visa Approved

09-11-14 - Paid the extortion fees

JUST IN CASE you guys wanted to know..

FYI

ON Monday July 7th I called Nvc to knw status on my case and the women who answered said that my IV documents that they received on May 27th were accepted and that my AOS documents they received on May 29th we still under review and to call this week to get an update...

SOOOOOOOOOOOO

that was the reason for my call today.. to check up on my AOS package.. and to my surprise they told me my case was completed on June the 8th and that my interview was ON the 6th of August..
