I hope that I did not reset my submission date on DS-261 :( . I just clicked on completed and closed it as I saw what it opened. I did not go more to resubmit it again. Just closed it.

You can always call NVC to find out your DS-261 submission date. I think they're still open. Fingers crossed! :star:

OMG I'm a Respiratory Therapist. :D Wooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooo NVC Code Blue........................ :D...........

DO NOT :no: RESUSCITATE. :devil::ph34r::yes:

Soloenta! No wonder I had this feeling we were a match made in Heaven!

DNR for NVC is right!

And thanks jsumner86 and Soloenta for your support in my rash behavior! I actually read through everything on NVC website and all the emails I got and it clearly says to wait until you pay the IV fee and it says "paid" on the website before you send the IV package, but I could't see that anywhere for the AOS. So, I did it! If someone else sees that somewhere, let me know so I can have something else to worry about!

I called today, operator told me it does not show that DS-261 is submitted. Then she placed me on hold and came back telling me that supervisor will look into it.

Btw, I have page with confirmation number that DS-261 was submitted on July 9.

I finally received the IV fee invoice email and paid the IV fee! :dance: I had waited for 28 darn business days. :dead:

I'm sending my IV package next Monday. I hope I don't receive a checklist! So scary! I'm peeing in my pants! :rofl:

Since I had 28 business days to prepare for the IV package, I've revised my IV cover letter 3-4 times. I've decided to include documents they MIGHT need. For example, I'm sending them my original marriage certificate AND certified copy JUST IN CASE my reviewer doesn't like one of them. :wacko:

Getting a checklist on the AOS package is okay since it won't change your timeline since we have to wait for up to 30 business days for the IV fee invoice. However, getting a checklist on the IV package is a crime since it'll delay the application timeline by 2 months! OMG! Fingers crossed! :star:

Yayy, congratulations you could pay IV fee finally:)

Since your DS261 date is the same as mine, I hope I will receive the invoice soon:D

Ok I am finally ready to send off my I-864 affidavit of support package. I have delayed it by a week waiting for my stupid tax transcript to come, it's been a month already so I've decided to stop waiting and just send copies of my return instead. (Beyond frustrated that I can't just download it since my address is outside the USA)

I have 2 questions about electronic processing, hopefully somebody will be able to help.

1 - do I need to send the barcode cover sheet? I ask this because the receipt page says,

"Unless this case has joined the Electronic Processing Program you will need a Document Cover Sheet. You may use the Print Document Cover Sheet button below to print one now. If you cannot print a copy now use the Email Document Cover Sheet button to send an electronic copy to an e-mail address where it can be printed later."

Since I am doing electronic processing does this mean the cover sheet is unnecessary?

2 - when naming the files, do I use the petitioner name or the beneficiary name? The AOS is using mainly my documents, but the applicant is my husband, no? The instructions from the IRS say,

"Each scan file must be named as it is created. Choose a file name that includes the following information:

Your NVC case number;

The full name of the applicant whose document you scanned; and

The document name or form number.

For example:

ABC2009123456_John_Doe_DS-3032.pdf

ABC2009123456_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf"

Maybe it's just immigration brain going on, but I can't figure out if those documents should have the name of the petitioner or the beneficiary. Please help!

I called NVC today about my AOS package. Operator told me they scanned it today and it takes 30 days for it to be reviewed.

I also asked about DS-261 that we completed on July 9. The website shows being completed. She put me on hold and came back telling me it does not show it was submitted, and she talked to supervisor who will look into it.

Anyone with this issue?

One thing I did notice on website for DS-261 where it says it is completed, when I click on it, it opens up the form we completed. I just exit it, I did not want to mess with it again. Could that be the reason for not showing in their system as submitted.

Did you reopened it after completing? If so, then how many days from the day you've submitted it? Because I also reopened my ds-261 like 2 hours after submission so I was worried after reading the stuff about reopening it but one of our friends here told me that it's fine for me. It's for the people who reopened it 2-3wks after their submission because it will start again the waiting time of their IV fee invoice. Also called NVC but it's not in their system yet since I submitted it just yesterday. Gonna call next week just to confirm.

So our petition got approved 2 days ago, how long do we have to wait for the case number from NVC? And will they send us the number or do we have to call them? And can we get email update like we did for our petition? Thanks

Welcome to the mad house! I know its a lot to read starting here (187 pages!) but it will help to read the first page from Saylin, clicking on the links that apply to you. Here is the link to the wiki that Saylin made on the NVC process. Lots of info here!

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

And as you scroll through these pages, look at people's timelines in their signatures (see ours below). That will give you an idea of how long all the steps take, but know that since I started at the end of May, things seem to have slowed considerably. Good luck!
