Hi guys,

My lawyer also sent out our package in middle of July, first biometric for form I485 was scheduled on 09/29/2014 and the second biometric for I765 was on 11/19/2014, everything went smoothly till 10/24/2014 my wife's grandma returned the letter of notice from USCIS by mistake. . USCIS usually send 2 copies, one to petitioner and one to legal representative, but the law office did not receive any mail, they have no clue what kind of letter was that so the law office called in, inquired about a notice that we did not receive on 11/05/2014 and told us to be patient. I was checking my mail box every single day, but nothing was sent to our house, then I decided to call customer services on 11/22/2014 ( should listing all the dates and details so people would have an idea whats happening to my case :D) I talked to a lady and she said every inquiry will take 30 days to be processed, I should call back if nothing update on 12/05/2014 , then I had 2 request because she put a RFE on my case status. I was just asking about my case, did not inquiry about RFE.

USCIS just sent me an email today saying RFE notice was mailed, they suspended processing my case. I'm so confusing right now. We haven't had an interview yet, why would they need more evidences? Is that the notice letter that missing on 10/24? You can see in the picture the lawyer's inquiry on 11/05 still not processed.

Request for Initial Evidence Notice Was Mailed

On December 5, 2014, we suspended processing of your case, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXX, because we need more information from you. Your notice explains what we need from you to resume work on your case. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your request for initial evidence notice by January 4, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I attached my case status picture below.

Thanks for your sharing, We really appreciate your help :)

Hi guys,

This Tuesday we've passed our interview. We went to San Diego even though we opted for Santa Ana. I don't know why they sent us to San Diego, maybe because it was closer to us than the Santa Ana office. Anyway, the officer was very nice and professional, he tried to joke a little but it didn't help us, we were too nervous :clock: . The interview lasted for abt 10 minutes, he asked us to show him our proof of relationship: photos, lease contract, insurance etc. After that, he asked us to tell him our story, he asked if we plan to have children, he asked if he met my family. My husband talked most of the time. He asked me about having children and then he gave us the approval.

I applied for the travel document a month ago and i got it just now so I wanted to ask him if there will be any problem when I'll return because we will be traveling to Europe for Christmas. He asked for my passport and told me to wait outside a little bit. So he wrote something in my passport to help with the return, probably to show that my status adjustment was approved.

That's all! I hope you will all have a Merry Christmas. I'm going back home with my husband next week. (L):dancing:

I'm in the same boat! We filed in early June and haven't had any updates since the EAD in late August. As of October 31st, my local office (San Antonio) last completed a case that was filed on June 2nd. Looks like your local office is working on March cases. Unfortunately, you may be in for a long wait. We called USCIS a couple of weeks ago. The Tier 2 officer said to call back in January if we didn't have our interview notice- our case is in our local office, so the interview notice is the next step. Do you know if your case has at least been transferred to your local office? Best of luck!

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

Hello All,

I haven't really been active here lately but this is my story so far:

Back in Oct, we received an interview date in November but one of us was traveling so we requested a change. I was quite nervous about this. The local office was very nice and agreed to reschedule but said could take up to 60 days.

I kept doing info passes to see how that was going and they said they would notify us.

December 2014 we got an interview notice for today.

Interview experience:

We got there a little bit earlier (7.30) and our interview was scheduled for 7.45. We sat down after signing in and waited. A few couples were there already probably with the same interview times and they were all called in except us. An hour passed and our lawyer wanted to know what was taking so long because the other couples had been done but one. At 9.00 am we got called in, my wife went in first and was asked a series of questions about us.

9.10 am I was called in and sworn. I was asked the regular yes/no questions and then asked for wife's DOB and how we met.

I explained and as I finished the IO looked at me and smiled saying, "I am going to recommend approval." I almost jumped up in joy but contained myself and just hugged and planted a big kiss on my wife!!

We left, had the usual small talk, and I had to drop her off at school. I got the "We ordered your card" text and email as I left her school.

All in all, a very pleasant experience!

thanks for reading,

Mo

Hey everyone just wanted to share my interview experience with all of you!

So I finally had my interview it was scheduled for Saturday the 21st at 8am.

My preparation:

For a week a had been gathering all my proofs, making copies of everything and having a folder with all original documents and one with all the copies because they keep all the copies at the interview. I also created a album of copies of any pictures that I thought would best describe my marriage. (I didn't take originals of the pictures only copies printed at Walgreens) my papers were all meticulously labeled and arranged by dates. (Bank statements, prior lease, flight tickets, pet vet records, besically anything I could find that had both our names one them)

A little about my case:

I've been married for almost 4 yrs coming up in April (we had dated since 2006)

I had applied for DACA and currently had a social and work permit because of it. Las year I applied for a Advance Parol to travel back to guatemala to see my sick father, it was approved! So I left to guatemala for a week and when I returned my passport got stamped because of the advance parol, making my reentry back in to the US legaly.

Since I had now entered legally now my husband was able to petition for me and after months of waiting we finally had our interview:

Interview:

My husband and I arrived at the Chatsworth office at 7:50 (a little freaked out that we were late) we entered the facility and turned in our interview notice letter to a box at the entrance of the waiting room. There my husband and I met with our lawyer and waited to be called, meanwhile he was going over with us about the evidence we brought. After 15 min we got called to a little window where they just asked me for my work permit card and entered that information to the computer. We got ask to once again take a seat and wait to be called for the interview process. Overall we must have waited over 30min to get called by then my nerves had calmed a bit.

Once they finally called us we were lead to on of the office where we had to go under oath before being seated.

The man interviewing us then proceeded to apologize for the wait saying the computer system was down and proceeded making conversation of how odd it was to get a interview on a weekend but it was because they are getting more cases now a days and they are offered OT. He seriously made us feel so comfortable and it didn't seem to be a interrogation. After that small chitchat he proceeded by asking us for the documents we brought for him and asked for the copies. He said that he would determine if we needed individual interviews based on the evidence be brought.

He first looked at a motorized letter my mom made stating that we both lived with her and then looked at our bank statements where I had highlighted the monthly utility bills we pay at her house. He saw that we used to live in Delaware and asked why, we mentioned my husbands work relocation that we did for one year. He later looked at the album and started to take some pictures out to keep for the file and made conversations about our pictures of our dog and our wedding. He said everything looked good and began asking me my full name, address and birth date and started asking me questions that they have to ask you like " are you a member of any organization" "have you ever used eligal drugs or firearms" basic "NO" answer questions.

He then said everything looks good and manually filled out a sheet stating we would receive notification by mail in 30days because the computers were down. He got up and said I'm keeping the copies of the documents and I will just need to make a copy both DL and passport and we just smiled and said ok and just sat there and he looked at us and said "no, grab ur things and fallow me we are done!" ( I was surprised that it was so easy and fast) we followed him to get our DL and passport and our lawyer made sure to ask one more time " everything looks good right, so in 30days they get a letter and a green card?" And he just replied with " yes, everything looks good" so over all the interview took 15min at most but I left there feeling unsure because we didn't really get a verbal confirmation of approval and I knew that I would be able to check my case status online because of the computers being down. The rest of the day I didn't want to celebrate until I receive my letter in 30days :( so we went about our day feeling disappointed about having to wait another 30days, when my phone got a text and email notification around 3pm that there was a change on my status and when I went to check online it said card had been ordered for production!!!!!!! Yey!!!!!! It was official!

A felt a huge weight off my shoulders because I had worked myself out so much thinking the interview was going to be hard and having that unprepared feeling building up. Not knowing the unknown of what was going to happen at the interview was horrible!

So I'm so glad that it's done and now I just have to wait for my green card.:)

I hope I didn't bore you with my story but if you have any questions feel free to ask because I know how nerveracking it is.

Wishing everyone else the best of luck on their case!
