Yay, congrats!

We have our interview next Tuesday. So anxious!!

Printing our pics today (in regular paper, not photo paper); not sure yet how to present them: scrapbook, album? We selected around 40.

Thank you!

Good luck on your interview! Let us know how it goes.

For our pictures, we printed about 20 photos on regular paper and included it in the pile of evidences we handed to our immigration officer. However, we also brought an entire photo album with original photos and our immigration officer asked to look at it as well. However, she only took the ones that were printed on regular paper. So just include the pics on regular paper with everything else. Make sure you leave some space on top because they will punch holes in it so that they can combine it with your entire file.

Everyone, some good news finally. My 485 status has changed to card mailed with the tracking numbers, based on the status I should have it tomorrow. Finally there !!

So what I did in the mean time, I contacted the local representative's office on 9/15 and they immediately sent out the query to USCIS. They have been real nice and contacting me every few days providing information on what they have heard from USCIS. I am guessing that helped move my case. Following that on 9/19 the status changed to card production however the same day they updated the status back to decision. Then on tuesday they changed the status to card mailed. I called them yesterday and they gave me the tracking numbers, it took and hour because i had to get it from the level 2 person, but they didn't have any issues giving the number. Also, yesterday I also received the notice status my petition has been approved.

Now just a few more hours of wait !!

Thanks to everyone for chipping in with suggestions and helping me out. It really helped, for anyone else facing a slow processing, please do consider contacting your representative if you have a need to get it processed faster. It might help, I am pretty sure my case wouldn't have moved if I had not contacted the representative here.

Thanks for the info!

We don't have any original photos. We keep everything in the computer, phone, or CDs; isn't that pretty common nowadays? Do we need to print a few in photo paper anyway?

Thank you!

I hardly check my status now and have no excitement when checking it.

Go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ and you can search for your representative by zip/address. After that you can just walk to their office and ask to meet someone who can help you with immigration related inquiry. They will ask you to fill a form and you can provide all the information that you want to add. I gave them my 485 and 765 receipt notices, letter from my employer and a letter written by me explaining why I wanted to expedite processing.

To be clear, the rep's office can not ask the processing to be expedited, because its not right. All they can do is ask for status and request USCIS to provide any considerations that they can. The only reason I went was because there is a dedicated person at USCIS who looks at all letters from representatives/senators. That way you know someone is looking at your letter. I was not going to contact but had to because no one from USCIS contacted me when I placed the expedite requests.

Yeah, it definitely is a good sign! I had my I-130 approved first, the same day as my interview. I received the green card updates 2 weeks after my interview so it took a while for me too.

Congrats again! :)

tormentis, don't worry about it. the same happened to me. In morning they changed the status to card production and then in evening they moved it back to decision then on monday it changed again to card production. I think they change the first status when to "produce" the confirmation and then they move back to decision and then on second change they produce the actual card. You should have it in a week or so
