I'm new to this forum. I applied for I-130, I-765 and I-485

July 29. Mailed out forms to lockbox in Chicago

July 30. Package delivered and signed for

July 31. Finger print fee was accepted (case processing in Nebraska)

Aug 09. Received hard copies with receipt #'s (notice date Aug 01,2014)

Aug 18. Biometrics letter received, appointment date Aug 25 (notice date Aug 08,2014)

Aug 19. Did Biometrics walk-in at Chatsworth, CA location

(Now on Day 40 and Online status still at "initial review")

worried because my current EAD expires 10/02/14

Does anyone have about the same time line as I that has progress on their case? I'm worried that I won't get my

I-765 approved be fore it expires

welcome to my boat. I was in the same situation, but my current work auth has already expired. So far I haven't been able to get anything from USCIS. I am going to their field office today and hope to get some response. The good news is 2nd oct is almost 90 days, so you should get it by then. But I would recommend start the process of expediting your case and see if you can get them to process it faster. Check some other posts above on how to expedite.

aks1362: have you not heard back on your expedite yet? Did you call for updated status?

Btw: Received hard copy of interview letter last Saturday.

Nope, nothing yet. Went to USCIS local office today. They also said they can not do anything about it. All they said is that my expedite request (the one from 2nd Sep) is current assigned to an officer. The guy at the field office was funny, he said keep calling and bugging those people.

Anywho.. so I came back and then called USCIS, and the rep was really rude, I said today is day# 5 for the request and she was like, nope you have to call tomorrow (after 5 days). So still in the same situation. Seriously considering contacting senator here. If I dont hear anything by tomorrow I will ask the senator.

I wouldn't say that, out of all the people in july filers I am the only one whose case hasn't moved much. Everyone else's is moving ... Yes you should try to get the letter. Keep trying the 1800 guys and ask them to open the expedite request. I have given a link below which has the details on how to create the request. If you read this thread there is some great information on challenges people faced and what they recommend.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/453753-how-to-request-to-expedite-your-ead-based-on-a-job-offer/

Good luck, hopefully you will have something by oct.

Yes your HR will not give you a letter like that. What you need is to show financial stress if you don't get your EAD. The way to prove that is to show that you will be put on leave without pay if you do not get your EAD on time. I tried doing this before on 8/20 and they rejected it, without giving an explanation. I put in a new request on 9/2 saying that since I have not got my EAD I am on leave without pay until I get my EAD. They have not rejected it yet, but I have't seen any change in the status as well. So not sure what it is, I will be calling them today to see if they would have mercy on my soul :(

This is bizarre. They ought to have better systems in place.

So now what? Do you at have an appointment this week at all as you were told? Or does the wait start again?
