You just go to the office (it can be the office your appointment is at or some different one, it doesn't matter)

You ask if you can do the biometrics, because.. (sometimes you don't have to think about excuses, but it's good to have one)

You show them your appointment letter and your passport

and they may say yes or no.

In one office they can agree, in the other, they will kick you out :)

You just have to try.

The biometrics itself take around 10-15 minutes

But sometimes you have to wait a little bit, sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes an hour

Depends on how the office is busy.

Thank you

Congrats!

Do you have a job offer or something or you just hope for being lucky? :)

The immigration liasion office only told me to fax over the privacy release form..and not my offer letter or any supporting information. Anyways, good luck to you! And let's hope that both of us will get our EAD by the end of this month!

Can you guys give some details on what type of job offers you've received? I think I should start applying to get this going! Also - keep us updated on how the expedite process goes with some details - it would be extremely helpful to the rest of us. Cheers guys and good luck!

Congrats! Huge news =)

hi kooliz, I actually started sending out my resumes the moment I received my NOA1s for my I-485 and I-765 as I figured it would take me at least 2 months to land an interview.

I have a very niche job scope, so I only looked for jobs that were a fit for my skills, qualifications & experience. I used jobsites like Indeed.com and Monster.com and also subscribed to email alerts whenever similiar new jobs is posted. I don't drive, so I made sure that the positions I applied for are within walking distance or somewhere i can take public transport to.

It also helps to have a solid resume & cover letter...I had to tweak my resume so that it's more American-style, and also made it a very visual infographic style resume. I also indicated very clearly in my resume & cover letter that I am in process of filing amy marriage-based Green Card and that I do not require any U.S. company sponsorship and I am anticipating receiving legal work authorization by the month of MM, YYYY.

Hope this helps!

Hey Guys, I am also in the same boat and looks like I will be in trouble if I don't get my EAD within the next couple of weeks. I filed on July 9 (765, 140, 485 together) and got the receipt number on 7/17. I am kicking my self for not checking this forum earlier, if I had I would have gone ahead and did a walkin for my biometrics which happened on 8/14 (I got the appointment date almost 2 weeks before that).

Now I am nearing my current visa max out and I still haven't got EAD. My situation is a little different since I am currently working on H1B and will have to stop working if I dont get EAD before 8/30. Do you guys think I can call the USCIS with this reason and ask them to expedite the EAD process? I am guessing it wont hurt to try. Let me know what you guys think, thanks a bunch !!!

That sounds like the definition of 'immediate financial loss' to me. A letter from your current employer would probably be useful, too, confirming they want to continue employing you or something along those lines.

Definitely enough to expedite. Contact your congressman as that seems to be the fastest way as they can fax in the request with proof right away. Or you can call USCIS and do it the way I did, but it will take a little longer as they will need to ask you for proof and you fax it back, then they need to review.. about 3 days longer.

Called them yesterday and asked them to expedite. Now lets wait, ideally they shouldn't need the proof of my visa expiry they are the USCIS they would already know that. He didnt ask for anything on phone but said someone might contact within 5 days. Fingers crossed

hi kooliz, I actually started sending out my resumes the moment I received my NOA1s for my I-485 and I-765 as I figured it would take me at least 2 months to land an interview.

This is amazing and super incredible. Thank you so much for writing a detailed response!
