My husband did not disclose to me and the Immigration officer that he has been married before. During d background check it was discovered that he was married and filled for two people before. He was now asked to produce the divorce decrees for both marriages unless my marriage with him would be considered void. He was able to get the divorce decrees for both of them but we haven't sent them. My fear now is what if he was asked why he denied been married before, what will happen I dont know. I need your advice on what to do please

I would be more concerned dear that he did not disclose to you that he was previously married dear. You can hold off on processing anything further at this time. I highly suggest investigating things on your own before going any further. Just a word of advice. I'm sorry to hear this once again.

What do you mean "My fear now is what if he was asked why he denied been married before, what will happen I don't know?"

What is his reasoning for the omission.

So your husband is the petitioner and you found this out at interview? Well the immigration rules and law are far more forgiving to citizens than others. And since he did produce the divorce decrees it may be okay.

So is it you are adjusting status here in US?

I wouldn't worry so much since he did have the divorce documents which makes you two married for real. YAY!!

How long have you been together?

Your evidence I guess will be the deciding factor if they think your marriage is real.

Keeping 2 prior marriages from me would be a deal breaker for me. He is not transparent and honest.

Have you asked him about previous relationships and he just lied like that ?

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Yeah Ebunoluwa I did ask him when we were dating and he didnt tell me he was married before. Right now he said he was afraid of loosing me that was why he kept it away from me because I told him when we were dating that I cant marry a divorcee. We have been together for two years bit our marriage is a year and four months old now. I still love him but am not sure of trusting him again. I hardly belur his words now.

Building a relationship on a foundation of lies is never a good thing but perhaps counseling would help him to become

more transparent.

You specifically said you would not marry a divorcee and he fraudulently coerced you into marrying him by concealing material facts.. of not one, but TWO divorces. Yeah, immigration wouldn't be my concern right now - it would be the fact that my whole marriage is built on lies. If he can lie about something so important to you, what else can he lie about? Jeez. Sorry :(
