Fantastic that you got it worked out! Congratulations!

We almost had something like that happen to us.

There were two things.

One was the officer did not ask for the sealed medical exam!

I had to remind him: "Don't you need the sealed medical exam?"

Then, there was a temporary file and they didn't know where the official file was.

Fortunately, the officer went to look for it; first he sent an email to the clerk; the clerk didn't respond.

So, he decided to go look for himself so we'd not have to return.

It took a while as we sat biting out nails ... metaphorically!

When he got back he said it was hard to find!

Lord have mercy! It seems like a roll of the dice.

Yesterday, Jan 16th, I went back to the immigration office, and spoke directly to the person who interview me last time. She literally said: I forgot this document for you to sign and she handed me a piece of paper where I singed my name -while she openned my file- and right before my eyes, all my documents were still sitting there!!!!!!!! Then she said, she had not approved my case back then because she forgot that form!!!!!!!!!!! Right there she stamped my passport so I can travel now, and told me once again, smiling, that my green card should be in the mail in 3-4 weeks.

Another lessson learned: every case is unique!.. and always ask! Infopass appointments are good!

Good luck everyone, hope this time I do get my card... at least I got the stamp on the passport and that's all I care about right now! *SMILE*

And you got no apology for her incompetence and oversight? If this were me, a letter would go to my senator, Chuck Hagel, not necessarily for action but just as an FYI. His office has always been helpful and his people are tops. They were able to get information on our delayed I-130 back in 2004, which, as it turned out, had been lost in the CIS warehouse in Lincoln, Nebraska. Without his office's assistance, I wonder if we would have ever been notified of the reason for the delay?

These people need to get with it! I wonder how many cases are delayed for similar reasons? Paperwork that is lost or mishandled, requisite signatures failed to be collected, etc.?

Absolutely pathetic! As many have commented here before, if CIS were a business, they would be bankrupt or out of business for their lack of caring and incompetence.
