Hello! First of all, this is my first post! I see this is a very big and active community so I'm positive that you guys will help me out!

My name is Luis, and I did the Disney College Program from July 2013 to January 2014 on a J-1 Visa; but something horribe happened the very first day of the program. I lost my passport at Walmart (Actually, someone took my bag and they later returned it). The story goes as following:

I lost my passport and I was pressured to get a new one because I was "not legal" i.e. Disney would not officially "hire me" because I had no documentation. And they said "well maybe we can print your I-94 and you're good to go while you get your passport, but that wouldn't work either!! My I-94 wouldn't show up online. IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING.

*flashback*: Actually, the same day that I got to Orlando, at the airport, I was taken to another room because they couldn't obtain my I-94.. They later decided to let me pass and didn't explain anything to me.

So I end up going to Miami (closest consulate for my country) and getting a NEW passport. five hundred dollars and a couple of days later I have my new passport. I was a happy kid! but DO YOU GUYS WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT -.- I get a call from Walmart, this guy took my bag by mistake and he returned it; so now I have two passports! So this lady from the Disney staff and I go to Immigrations at the airport to get my I-94 printed so I can start working and this (really REALLY mean) puerto rican lady from the office prints my I-94 and stapples it on my old passport. She clearly tells me "Do not use your old passport to return to the Dominican Republic, use your new one because your old one got voided".

And so I did! My program ended January the 3rd, that day I left Orlando with my new passport and no questions asked (which seemed pretty weird for me because they stamped my new passport and it was SO empty, no visas or anything). So here's the following:

- My Tourist Visa is on my OLD passport, the one they told me not to use to leave the country. And my I-94 is still there!!!! So I went to the embassy a week after I got here and they told me that my tourist visa was not voided, so I could just use my new passport to travel and show the visa on the old one.. She didn't seem to sure though, which was a little scary.

Is there a way that I can get my tourist visa on my new passport?? Is it true that I can just travel with both passports??? Help me :(

Thank you for reading <3

You can travel with both passports.

I-94 is all online now. They printed a record from the system. Nothing to return - no issues. Just have proof (boarding passes) when you left the US on time.

You have to use the new passport but attach the old one with your VISA when traveling.

I was in the same situation. My visa was on my old passport but I had to renew my passport. So I just used a rubber band and put two passports together.

The I-94 had to be attached to your old one -- that is the passport you used to enter the US and the one tied to your I-94. All the other posters are correct about traveling with both passports and not worrying about the paper I-94, since it's now an electronic record. The only reason you have the paper copy is because you asked for one to give to Disney. Happens all the time -- for example, in many countries, passports are valid for 5 years or less. So, anyone issued a 10 year visa will have to carry two passports for about five years.

The only way you could get a visa in the new passport is to apply for a new one -- but, you would have to qualify again and could always be denied.
