hi, maybe some of you have been following my story and know my situation, but to those who haven't been...fiance and I got approved for the k1 visa on April 18th this year and haven't heard anything at all about our petition ever since. it's been over 2 months....will be 3 months in over two weeks. we have emailed many places, called all the possible places as well, from the uscis to the nvc, emailed all of those places...been told we can't do nothing but wait...but nobody can tell us where our petition is...it is lost somewhere between the uscis and nvc, who knows where it is, which one of these places...whether it's ever even been sent off to the nvc and is still stuck at the California service center or is laying lost somewhere at the nvc...we don't know. nvc told us to email them the noa2 scan and we did, but this was a month ago.............i am totally down and furious too, idk what is going on....it's been over 2 months....it's definitely lost...but can it be found then? how could it be...if they can't even locate it....i wonder what happens in a situation like this...need to re-apply??? idk what to do, i know i can only wait and hope but that isn't enough and might not be, case might be gone, and idk when would be the good time to even start acting on it as far as sending them in all the info again or whatever...

The petitioner should contact one of their congressional representatives for help.

I don't have a real solution for you, but I want to let you know that I feel for you.

I think it is kinda sad that so many people are telling you to just be patient, your time will come, etc...

I know that if they had their petition lost between USCIS approval and NVC they would be nervous as well. It does not

take almost 3 months for it to get there. I know it didn't mine, and if you look at the timelines it doesn't take anyone else

that long either.

The only little advice I can give is to contact representives or maybe look into an attorney.

But....don't just wait and be patient like other people are saying. I know they wouldn't in your shoes.

Yeah, you are right...it does NOT take this much.....ive thought bout contacting these people but so many people on here said that that doesn't even help...

nvc is taking so long to reply to us, it's been a month...they said they will "investigate".....

its just so weird to me that they cant just simply look in their system and see whats going on....apparently they did and they couldnt tell us where it is...are they this disorganized?

im just wonderig if our petition even going to be found???? or can it be lost for good? cause if it will eventually get found, but surely, then im ok with waiting a little longer...

or when it comes down to 3 months of waiting should we contact them and ask what should we do now....we got our noa2 so that proves that the packet we sent in was good and got approved, that we paid the fee and all that....

so my main 2 questions im really wondering are whether our petition will get found for sure....

and second is, when should we start contacting them saying its been "this and that long and what should we do now, provide the info all over again?". basically how long do we wait until we say "no more" and tell them it's definitely been lost for good...

Your petition will be found for sure.

Contact your congressman and the USCIS Ombudsman for help. The link to the ombudsman was pasted above.

Well yes, it will turn up someday. Someone will come across it in the wrong place and then go "Hey, what the heck is this doing here?" and then put it in the right place.

But how long will that be from now?

You want to get someone to go look for it right now, so it will be found in the next week or two or three. To do that you need to get someone working on the problem, be active.

Contact the Ombudsman ASAP, and then work on getting in touch with a congressperson.

Why would you just wait instead of trying to get it tracked down? You can get the Ombudsman involved by filling out an online form, as stated in the link I posted above earlier. I suggest you be as proactive as you can, and not just sit around waiting.
