Got this interesting email from the embassy today. I sent an i-864ez with my 2013, 2012, 2011 tax transcripts and didn't send any W2s since the instructions say just send the tax transcript...

Dear Petitioner:

We have received aforementioned petition for an immigrant visa from National Visa Center (NVC). While preparing this file for the visa interview we have observed that below mentioned documents are missing in the file. We request you to kindly inform your relative in this petition to bring the documents listed below at the time of interview to help us process this case expeditiously. Failure to submit these documents at the time of interview may further delay your case. Required documents are :

· Please either provide the W2' of the petitioner or I-864. Because with form I-864EZ, W2 is must, or otherwise form I-864 is required along with the tax returns

:wow: That's new! Embassy/consulate specific issue maybe? I've just gone to read the checklist section on the EZ instruction page and it says required documentation is "a copy of your individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s for the most recent tax year, or a statement and/or evidence describing why you were not required to file." Transcripts aren't mentioned at all in that section, only under the instructions point for number 19 where you're asked for Federal income tax info  Maybe that's the cause of the confusion?

Me thinks that might be Embassy specific. I completed an I-864EZ as well and provided IRS transcripts in lieu of my tax return and W-2. Our interview packet did ask for a copy of my 2013 tax return, but made no mention of needing my W-2.

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

I think it has to do with who reviews ur file.. I submited I-864EZ with only the 2013, 2012, 2011 transcripts and it was fine... the website specifically says if you submit transcripts you DO NOT need W2.

Do I check on CEAC to see if it changes from Ready for Interview to Administrative Processing to Issued? We had the interview yesterday and it still says Ready for Interview. I know I should just chill but I really wanted my husband to leave with me next week. However, realistically I don't think it'll happen.

FYI, CEAC does not always show the latest information. For my wife's case, it still shows Administrative Processing, even though I received an e-mail from ustraveldocs over 8 hours ago saying that her passport would be sent today, and then I learned from the courier (Pony Express) website that it was picked up from the embassy almost 4 hours ago. So now it's in transit, and I feel much better.

Here's something I found helpful. You can send an e-mail to: passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com, and just put the passport number in the subject line (nothing else in the subject or body of e-mail). You then get a pretty quick auto-reply that tells you what's happening. Earlier today, I received, "Your passport is still with post." But now, I get, "In Transit From Post." :)

But CEAC still says Administrative Processing...

Hi! Thanks for the info! I'm getting really nervous about my passaporte. It still says "Ready" on CEAC, since the interview last Friday. Is the email to ustraveldocs something particular to your country? Or do you think it'd also work for Brazil? Thank you :)
