Wife's visa approved, Alhamdolillah (Thank God) :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Visa officer told her to pickup the passport within 2 weeks, most likely after 8/1.

Thanks to the VJ moderators and others like me who helped me unselfishly throughout this process.

Best wishes to all who are next.

Woo whooo. Congratulations.

Tomorrow they probably start sheduling interview dates right?

Unless they shock us I don;t think so. Last month was the first time I have seen that early scheduling (26th). I figure maybe Thursday or friday but for sure next week sometime.

Hey dwheels and fellow vj - I have a question on the medical. My wife went and got her vaccinations but they only gave her 2 shots and was told to come back and get the 2nd dose for one of those shots 4 weeks later if she's still in the country or get it when she's in the US. Is this normal?

What shot was that. That doesn't seem right. There are 3 shots and they are all given same time. There's no follow-up or anything she needs to do in US.

HUH? They high at that embassy. :wow: Oh like NVC is just throwing dates at us. Sure an embassy might change your date it happens life happens. But the interview letter you have is official and unless otherwise told that is the date you show up.

I was confused too when they told me that, and that was my argument, I told them that I waited for NVC to give me a date and that's the date we should go by. It's a mess at that embassy, I have heard similar complaints before about their process.

And to make matters worse, my wife already did her medicals since april when we wanted to do the fiancée visa (I-129F) but decided to wait, all they have to do is to use the same medicals to process for this I-130 visa now. I just don't get it. :ranting::crying::cry: ...I guess it never gets better until she gets here...lol

Thanks dwheels

Visa APPROVED!!!!!! Everything went well. I was super nervous and my husband was not lol. They allowed me to be with him at all times, except when it was time for the interview I couldn't say anything.

Initially they spoke to him in Portuguese, except once again when it was time for the interview itself, which was in English. She asked my husband strange questions. She wanted to know how long we had been married, how we met and when my husband said that our parents were friends and we knew each other since we were kids, she wanted to how long we dated for. My husband didn't explain himself very well and she started to get frustrated by wanting to know if I ever moved there, if not then how come we started dating. Then my husband said he had our wedding album and started showing her pictures. She wanted to know why he had pictures alone in his bedroom (Umm Portuguese tradition lol) and she wanted to see pictures of my parents. When he showed her me with my parents on our wedding day, she wanted to see all of us together as proof he was there. So then he started pointing out pictures where we were all together. At that point she started to type some stuff on the computer and he was said that he also had pictures of us dating and she said, "It's not necessary, I'm fully convinced." She also asked how many times he had been in the US and if he ever over stayed his Visa. He said never had and that he had been there 5 times for a month each time. And she asked again, "So you have never overstayed or stayed more than a month?" And he said, "Well maybe I stayed 31 days." Lol. It was a cute response because he was trying to be politically correct while not falling Into a "trap" answer. She laughed and told us we would get the Visa in the mail in 10-12 days.

I would like to write a full review, but I have no idea where to do that. If you guys could just let me know.

We are celebrating today by doing a River cruise on the Sienne River at dusk.

Thank you so much for everyone's support, guidance, and help. I'll be back to let everyone know how long it takes to receive the Visa in the mail.

Wishing all the best for upcoming interviews. :)

Wonderful news, congratulations!!! :dancing:

All will go well, I'll bet that the interview will be smoother than mine :)

Let me know when you get your Visa in the mail so that we know when to expect it. As soon as he gets it, we will buy his ticket. We are going to start packing his stuff soon to bring with us and then some other things we are sending in a container that is supposedly going out at the end of July, beginning of August.

So does anyone know any magic tricks to get the CEAC site to change from Administrative Processing to Issued? :help:

It's a bit frustrating that my wife and her son were both approved at the same interview, and he has already received his passport/visa, but hers is still in A.P. I called the embassy and they said there are no issues, so we should "just wait." :clock:

You just had interview yesterday. Usually regular AP is just a day or two. he is a child nothing much to check out. I doubt very seriously they going to approve a child and leave out the mom. Hang on.

She's 27 so based on that website she would have to get vaccines for measles, tetanus and vericella. Not sure why she only got 2.

Thanks dwheels. The interview was actually on Friday morning, and his passport was sent out that day, while hers is still in a holding pattern after Monday and Tuesday have now passed. I was just surprised that hers wasn't sent with his, since they were both told they were "approved." I guess I don't understand why there is still a need to check anything out at this point, since the approval was verbally communicated... But I realize others have been in A.P. much longer than this, so I'll just try to chill out. :)

Measles, mumps and rubella is one vaccine, and tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis are another. depending on the forumaltion of the vaccine and the manufacturer you may require a booster.

So if I'm understanding correctly what you just said, she got 2 which was correct?
