Julie and I passed through immigration at JFK about 3 hours ago. It was extremely easy. I'll write more later in the reviews - but we are so exhausted after our 26 hour flights from Australia that we are napping now!

I'm curious about one thing (did read your review). Did they consider your partnership valid from registration date or DOMA striking date? In other words, did/will you get a conditional GC or a 10-year one?

Our file is in Transit as of today, yay!!!

And I would trade interview dates with you in a heartbeat if only I could speak to a real person!!

Maybe you two could write and sign a joint letter to the embassy. It might work like a charm for both of you.

Congrats, do you know WHEN you can pick it up from Chennai? I mean is like a day or two after the interview...is there any way we would know that it is ready for pick-up?

I am clueless, I will have to find out.

Hmmm...I don't like this process...why can't they just ask the people to wait an 1 hr or so and hand them the passport! the nearest location for a pick up for my husband is Goa..which is 3-4 hrs away from him, he has to come back from Mumbai and then again run to Goa to pick it in a day or two :crying:

We married in the US in March 2013 and DOMA fell in June 2013 - so neither date would have given us the two years we needed. DOMA's demise allowed me to petition for Julie - but the "start" date would be March 2013. Two-year conditional is it.

VJ friends I am in trouble....my picture on my information page on visa package got weired. In my region too hot weather ,due to which black portion of my photo sitck to envelop when I tried to get it out picture weired out. I emailed embassy but no reply yet, What should do now I am very upset

Just spoke with my wife, and we were approved. They told her she can pick up her visa tomorrow. Thank you to everyone at VJ for all the help and being in the same boat with us. Tomorrow is the interview day in Moscow for my wife and stepson. They both re-scheduled their interview dates on ustraveldocs.com (3 days earlier than the assigned date), and now the box on the website shows their new interview date & time.

The new interview confirmation letters they received shows Applicant Details, then Consular Appointment Details, then Document Delivery Information, and then a section called MRV Fee Details. On my wife's, it shows her name and a bar code. But on my stepson's, it only shows his name but no bar code. Does anyone know what this bar code represents? If it is for the $ 230 immigration visa fee, that was paid for both of them, so I'm curious why it's not shown on both.
