No you don't need the letter. It asks you if you have an appointment scheduled with the embassy.. But you do need to take the letter to the appointment

thanks for the info. i haven't received the official interview letter, only an informal mail from nvcexpedite. i expect all of us that got an interview date today to get the interview letter tomorrow...

I got the GOOD NEWS this morning:

My wife was approved and was told to come back Friday to the US Consulat General in Casablanca to pick up her passport and the sealed envelope.

Thanks you everybody on VJ for the unconditional help and support.

I will add details about the interview as soon as she gets back home.

As the beneficiary because the appointment is for them and it's also when you schedule the appointment it makes you pick the place where the beneficiary will pick up the passport after they have been issued the Visa
