thanks, hopefully soon for the interview email, I'm curious to know why it will take about 2 weeks to schedule an interview in Niger

Because scheduling is completed for most embassies. There is a certain time frame they do scheduling. And they continue until they either run out of slots or people. Some embassies less busy people get scheduled in soon as they get case complete.

I have no idea about your embassy. Whats been happening lately two months is some embassies have started a "round two" that starts up about a week or two later. Normally interview scheduling starts the last few days of the month through the first week. All you an do is wait. When your number comes up to be scheduled you will find out.

Happy Tuesday you all..I hope they schedule some interviews today atleast, I have never seen such a long time lapse between CC and interview scheduling for anyone in this forum...(12 days) God knows what's taking them so long :cry:

Also, for those of you how know about my rant yesterday, I'll post an update later!

I don't know what spreadsheet you are looking at but for most its a good month. It's all about when you get case complete and where you are in the queue. Remember there are hundreds of people in the queue ahead and behind you.

Heck Look at Egypt, Vietnam and many others months and months. I remember Last year Cambodia waiting 8 months. 12 days. Come on now. You are in the home stretch now.

Lately your embassy started doing 2nd rounds so here's hoping it happens for you.

I've been waiting for an interview since May 22, one and a half months.

USCIS I-130

01-23-2013 : NOA1 - Processing @ NBC (MSC)
11-25-2013: NOA2 - Checked status via the USCIS website

1-10-2014: Case Received by NVC

5-22-2014 CASE COMPLETE!

My husband went to the embassy and they took back his passports and the big packet. Says they'll go over it and call him either tomorrow or Thursday to pick the stuff back up again. They asked if I paid the GC fee yet and I hadn't. Good thing too since his A# might change.

CHECK OVER EVERY DETAIL, PEOPLE!!!! My goodness... <_<

does the NVC assign the interview time slot to a case or does the embassy handle that part?

The NVC assigns according to what the embassy sent them. They get a calendar of the month of scheduling and the slots available and away they start plotting. It's basically what the K1's get to do themselves but NVC does for us.

CC on jun26th, CC email came on jul3, called NVC again today to find if they scheduled interview in my case, they said no and they're not even sure if I can get a date in AUGUST... :ranting:

I hope this doesn't linger into a long wait again.....smh

Dittoo situation...I dont know why they are doing this to us...most of the interviews were scheduled in a few days from CC...I feel so terrible...plus I got TWO checklists on my parents case..I am a mess :(

I'd really be shocked if there wasn't some scheduling action this week.. gotta trust the stats..

A recap of my findings -

  • NVC has been very very consistent, especially in the last few months, of large batches of scheduling every 2 weeks, give or take a few days:

  • People don't often longer than 16 days, with 85% being scheduled within 20 days:

  • Scheduling is usually mid-week. Wednesday and Thursday are most popular. Any time from Tuesday-Friday is normal:
