On Julie's visa in her passport, she has the annotation: 212(g)(2)(B)

What does this mean? I looked it up, and it seems to have something to do with vaccinations, but she had all of hers, plus some!!!

Does she need to prepare some nice answer for this when she gets to the POE?

Congratulations to all visa approvals! :goofy:

I'm curious, what exactly "DO NOT OPEN envelope" looks like? A4 size envelope?

Yes - an A4 manila envelope with a one page Immigrant Summary stapled to the front. Ours was sealed with a clear Consulate sticker and had "Do Not Open" stamped all over it, plus a 3" x 4" label on the back.

One can tell that there is a rubber band around the papers. You can feel it through the manila envelope (some people will say a "kraft envelope").

At the Consulate, we saw the file - it's just all the civil document copies, the police report, copies of the I-864 and DS-260 and the medical, plus a thousand pictures stapled to everything.

There were extra pictures in our bundle, but they still took the pictures we were told to bring and used the newest ones for the visa in the passport.

This is from the Sydney Consulate in Australia. Your embassy/consulate might have a different process.

By the way, we did NOT receive any instructions for paying the Immigrant Fee. There was a checked box on the label that said we had to pay it, but no instructions anywhere. I found the ELIS signon thing to be quite tedious. Thank goodness for Visa Journey!

Finally, I can rest from that vigil...

What a rush it must've been to both of you. Enjoy a well deserved moment.

Thanks for the vigil :D

it certainly was quite an awesome rush of events from her arrival by train to Moscow to a few minutes later going to embassy to 2 hours later coming out with the wonderful news!

Congratulations! Happy Happy!

Sukie

Thank you!

I hope everyone's interviews go as awesome as ours went. Probably by tomorrow I'll post review of interview but from what she told me the questions were pretty much what i've found here on visa journey and it was 5 minutes and the guy was super friendly and seemed like he had seen all of the evidence we sent to USCIS including photos. My wife didnt even get a chance to show photos so near the end she said something like "Oh and I have a lot of photos" and he said "it's okay I have already seen them"

Such a wonderful day! Just over 10 months from start to finish, didnt have any delays no checklists all done right as it should be. But I hope for all of those behind us an expedite journey!

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

Thank you very much for the clear Information! :star:

Our consulate says I can pay the immigrant fee at consulate, and I have to pay it before interview, so yes! Every consulate has different rules.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I'm going to write a full report of our experience on the embassy review page. One thing I should mention is they asked us for the confirmation page that DS-260 was filled out online. Also, the question that says "are you immigrating to the USA with your spouse?" I put "no" since people on here said I wasn't immigrating, just moving. Which made sense. But the interview guy said it was wrong and changed it to "yes" saying I would move with my husband after visa approval.

Anyways, we're going to our favorite restaurant today to celebrate!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! :goofy::goofy:(L)(L)

Also, I've been singing this song. Listen to the lyrics, it's perfect!

Congrats! I am so happy for you!

I had my interview today in the Paris Embassy (I am IR-5, with my daughter being the petitioner). My wife's appointment is not until Aug 7.

Here are the highlights, but I should really say the lowlights:

(...) I could not complete the interview, I had to cancel my flight home tonight, stay overnight in Paris, in hope that their system will be working tomorrow.

I hope all goes well today!

The bad thing about this is that you will have to spend even more money.

WOW!!!

Interview Date: July 1st

VISA IN HAND: 8:45 a.m. on July 3rd!!!!

Hooray for Australian Express Post and the Sydney Consulate!!!

Hi Sukie

I did a quick google search. Looks like this is just the notation showing that the officer gave her a blanket waiver for an incomplete vaccination record (for those vaccines that are not age appropriate, for example). I would think it's all good. (Since my vaccination sheet from the doctor doesn't have the "not age appropriate" box checked, but the doctor said it didn't need to, I'm taking all my vaccination records and that table with what's required/not required to the interview. Just in case. I also plan on having my big giant folder with me at POE, when that time comes.)

Congrats to all the recently approved! :goofy:

Their website just said 'unforeseen circumstances'.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

So weird! someone on the london forum said a couple of people got an email, the day before!! telling them their interview was cancelled and to call and make another one! imagine that! we would have been so mad as we would have been in london all ready for interview after travelling from Scotland. PHEW it didnt happen to us, esp cos of our booked flights, but esp sorry for those that did get caught up in that, apparently a couple of VJ members mentioned it somewhere on here.

Our visa just went to ISSUED on the website :):goofy: anyone from UK know how long until we get the email where we can track it?

CONGRATS on the approval-- what a weight lifted- cant wait for 8-6th!!!

Thanks! good luck to you guys too!

Well, there's a saying that a sign of strength is to know when to admit defeat. My husband heard back from the London Embassy this morning. There are no earlier dates available for interview and we need to attend the appointment as originally scheduled. So, after our honeymoon/anniversary, we will depart in separate directions, him to London and me back to the States. The only difference is it will only be a 2-3 week separation this time.

Sorry you didnt get it moved up, but glad you only have a 2-3 week separation, that will fly! you might even get cheaper flights being in AUG

WOW!!!

Interview Date: July 1st

VISA IN HAND: 8:45 a.m. on July 3rd!!!!

Hooray for Australian Express Post and the Sydney Consulate!!!

WOW!!!

That was so FAST! Very cool!

i might have to stay in the house today, just in case it gets delivered that fast, we did not receive a tracking email yet though- but i heard sometimes they arrive before you even get that email.

Thanks Gee and Cee!

Julie told me that the Civil Surgeon put an indication on her record because she hadn't had a meningecoccal (I cannot even spell it!) vaccine. I think that is baloney. It's not even indicated for her age (59) - so why does she need an annotation for it? She had all of the required vaccines for her age, plus the flu shot, plus stuff that wasn't even required!

OK - I won't worry about it - but I think it stinks....

I tried calling nvc yesterday and my case was completed on 24 and I received the CC email on 1st. However they have not yet sent the packet to India, mumbai consulate. They said consulate tells us about the slot and then we send the package. I am confused, how does this proceeds, when I will hear about the interview date.

You should hear about it soon. My in-laws' interviews were scheduled on 06/24 for 08/06. Their files just got to the mumbai consulate yesterday. So, I am not sure about how this whole process works. Once you get the interview scheduled, you will have to make an appointment for fingerprinting and have to pick a location where your spouse's passport can be sent. When I was making those appointments online, there was an option to change the interview date, I clicked on it to see what slots were available. I can tell that starting 15th of July to end of July, they had close to 30 slots open per day. Unfortunately, my in-laws cannot come here any earlier than end of August, so I kept the same date. But all of you waiting for their spouses to get here, and have Mumbai consulate assigned, you should be able to get the interviews rescheduled to earlier date, as long as you will have medical done by then.
