Hi VJ family, first I want to congratulate all that got your interviews scheduled , visas approved and Issued.

I got an email just now that it says the following:

"The U.S. Department of State is currently experiencing technical problems with its visa system which are affecting operations globally. This issue is worldwide and is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We recognize and deeply regret the inconvenience to travelers. However, there are no issues with your specific appointment. If your visa is approved after your interview, we will return your passport with visa as soon as we are able to complete processing. It could take up to two weeks for us to process your visa in addition to the time required for the Loomis courier pass-back. However, it could also take longer in some cases.

If you would like your passport returned to you without the U.S. visa, please let the interviewing consular officer know, and we will return it to you. You can later contact CSC Visa Information Service for information on how to return your passport to the Embassy/Consulate for the visa to be issued and affixed to your passport.

If you have an urgent need to travel to the United States, please also let the interviewing consular officer know at time of your interview. Please understand that only true emergencies of an extraordinary humanitarian nature can be considered for exceptional handling.

We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter and apologize for any inconvenience."

I had plans to leave Montreal as soon as the visa was received, I informed my landlord I was leaving by August 15....bummer...have to find a place to stay because of delays.....SO UPSET NOW!

PLEASE READ THE INFO BELLOW....they didn't make sure the updates were safe....how stupid are these people?

So, I'm scheduling the ACS appointments for our boys and I'm trying to remember what all that particular office requires. Will we just need to bring their passports and the DS-260 confirmations? Or the interview letter as well, or something I'm not thinking of? And since we already paid the visa fees they won't want more money from us, just when they go for their medical, right? It's been two years since my husband had his ACS appointment and I'm kind of drawing a blank.

Well, I found I was too relaxed so I asked the Department of State to cause a major system muck up aka "glitch" so I could have more to worry about. It's worked great!!

Seriously, my husband is cool as a cucumber. It's like the final exam before graduation. You know you already passed the course, it's just one more hurdle until you can throw all the papers in the air Mary Tyler Moore style and run down the street screaming.

August 6th is creeping up on us, I hadn't realized it was so close until LifeOnHold said something to me about it!

You'll be fine, and we're all in here together for your last minute nerves :-)

Yes all you mentioned. Passport, medical, DS-260 confirmation. Don;t know if you need pics or evidence but if so bring it. Oh and passport pics.

Hey okay just to make everyone feel better about their situation I have to pull out the big guns and point this all at me. (yes its about me now. LOL)

See 15 months on April 12th, 2013 3 days before my husbands interview my life change because I found out he married someone else on April 1. Yepper. End of my journey to be sure.

Well I got my CEAC update that the Petition has been cancelled as of July 20th ( can you believe its been sitting there all this time ).

"Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition."

Anywho, needless to say my journey has been over 15 months, but I am still here making sure all of you make it to your destination with your love ones and families.

I say all this not to get pity but to show each of you that at least you have something to look forward to no matter the delay. I know, I know someone saying to you "at least its just a year or 2 out of your life when have a lifetime together".

But you know in the grand scheme of things it really is just a temporary delay for a lifetime of joy happiness and unexpected twist and turns. But guess what, you get to do it with the desire of your heart the love of your life. If that doesn't warm your heart and make you say "let the system be damn, soon I will be with my baby". Then well I can't help you.

I want to congratulate all the new interviews flowing in and I know there will be more this week. Case Completes, Welcome to the group and Visa approvals wooo whoooo.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I will be here as long as the Good Lord says to keep a light on so people can get to their real journey of life and love.

The post office in Paris received the package an hour ago! Perhaps you'll receive it tomorrow! :-)

I am wondering how quickly they brought the package to be mailed after they Issued it. Ours was Issued sometime before 3:00pm on Thursday the 31st (in Australia). It needed to be in the mail before 6:00pm to make the Express Post delivery system in order to be in my husband's hands by Friday.

I know every consulate is different but would be great to know anyways, thanks!

I think my journey is over (at least until the time comes to apply for the removal of conditions). My wife arrived yesterday at 3pm which is pretty much a year exactly since my first priority date for the NOA1 Keep your chins up guys. Your day will come soon!

The CEAC status showed "issued" around 12am. The post office tracking status was updated at 6pm... Hope your visa is already on its way!!! :-)

Okay so they brought it somewhere to be sent sometime between 12:00am and 6:00pm. That is a longer window then I had unfortunately.

I have all my fingers and toes crossed that ours made it to the post office before 6:00pm!!
