I was a meany... I actually woke up my husband when I got the news. :rolleyes:

No self-control here! :blush:

Hahaha I just seriously thought about waking him up!! Well it's almost 8am there soooo it's time for him to get up :-D

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

-2013-04-22: NOA1 (Case transferred on 12/04) -2014-02-07: NOA2 -2014-02-24: Case received at NVC (Case # received on 03/27) -2014-03-29: DS-261 completed -2014-03-31: AOS fee paid (shown as PAID on 04/02, package sent on 04/03) -2014-04-04: IV fee paid (shown as PAID on 04/08, package sent on 04/05) -2014-04-08: DS-260 completed online -2014-04-14: AOS & IV packages received at NVC (entered in the system on 04/17 and 04/18) -2014-05-05: AOS checklist (phone), joint-sponsor's proof of citizenship lost (other copy arrived at NVC on 05/08, NVC "received" the checklist response on 05/09)
-2014-05-09: IV package accepted
-2014-06-04: Case complete
-2014-06-11: Interview scheduled (July 23rd - APPROVED)

Visa APPROVED!!!!!! Everything went well. I was super nervous and my husband was not lol. They allowed me to be with him at all times, except when it was time for the interview I couldn't say anything

Oh myyy, my status shows "ISSUED", I can't believe it!!!! I will check again later if it stays like this, I feel like it's another glitch and it's not really issued...

Please check again, it changed to issued on mine!!!

ISSUED!!!!!! Visa ISSUED!!!!!! Woot Woot!!!!!!! I screamed and jumped on my hubby. He had no idea what was going on haha.

You just made my day! I checked as well and .... miracle, it switched to "issued" (it was still showing "ready" this morning). So, the Paris Embassy finally manage to access the database!

Congrats to all three of you! That's great news to start the day. :)

So will your husband be able to fly with you if he receives it on Saturday (it sounds more realistic huh?)? It would be sooo nice! Can't wait for my husband to wake up!

There is no Saturday mail in Portugal, so that isn't possible :( And I leave on Monday. He didn't want to go thru POE alone, and I don't blame him.

Did you have to sign for your package or did they actually have to hand deliver it to you? Or did they just leave it in your mailbox?

Hey guys! Just came back from the embassy. My visa was approved! :dancing:

The interview was only a couple of minutes and the consul was one of the nicest person I've met. She mentioned the issue they're having with the system. She asked for our phone number to let us know when the passport is ready to go pick it up at the embassy instead of DHL.

Thank you for all your help and encouraging words. You're the best!

Also, congrats on all the visas that have been issued :thumbs:

LOL we all have our own thing i guess ---- i generally tend to drink….every time i make it through one more hoop of NVC….i think i had more alcohol since i started this process (nov 2013 --- to --- who knows when!!) :whistle: . i am actually going through a lot of local breweries currently… :blink:

Hahah well you have to support the local economy, right? :) I'm gald alcohol makes me feel sick.. otherwise I'd be an alcoholic by now.

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!
