I thought about that too. I don't know if the system is trying to access his info. On their Facebook page they replied to people stating that they couldn't just stamp a Visa into the passport because the issue is actually getting the system to run that last background check on fingerprints and digital image. I feel like I should get a refund on all that money I dished out to try to do this all the legal way. At least some percentage back because I feel like "purchased" something and now there is a "recall" lol.

Yes, because in between filing an I-130 and interview, people decide to switch careers and become criminals *eyeroll*

Congrats!!

And while I'm very pleased for you that you've gotten your interview date, this is a perfect example of how the NVC doesn't particularly make sense. You got your case complete on the 28th July then two days later recieved an Interview date of 15th September whereas my case was completed on 11th July and after waiting 19 days I've just found out my interview date is 23rd September.

I'm obviously happy to have finally gotten an interview date but why are other cases that completed after mine being interviewed before mine? Luck of the draw?

jsumner86, you mention you're going to try to get your date moved forward. Is this an easy thing to acheive as I've read elsewhere that if you request your date to be moved you could potentially be setting yourself up for even more delays? I'd love to get mine moved forward too. What is the best way to go about this?

IF the interviews were schedueld according to Priority Dates, the jsumner is rightly before you. But, as we saw last month, NVC does not schedule according to Priority Date or Case Complete date. As Agent Don said "we put you where we can fit you". Why they have a responsibllity they clearly cannot handle is beyond me.

Once the Embassy has your medical, that's probably the best time to ask for an earlier interview date as you are "ready" for interview. The medical at Knightsbridge is really about a week out with scheduling, so I would schedule that ASAP.

The trouble with my situation is that I bought my ticket to bring my wife and daughter home right before this debacle. I'm flying over Sept 20th and hope she has her visa by then. :(

Oh no! Somehow I really thought you received your visa already! Your interview was so early this month! Is it still at "ready" on the website?? This is unbelievable. I am really happy you received your visa sandraperry, honestly! No survivors guilt allowed here!! I have this thread open on my smartphone and I am reading all the updates! It's nice to talk with people who understand what we went through and why I am now getting upset (family and friends are just like "don't worry, you'll receive it in a few days", yeah right because we can really trust them when they say they're "doing everything to fix the problem"...). I just checked the ceac status, it was updated today, still at "ready". Perhaps it was updated because I sent an email to the embassy...

My interview was July 3 (actually July 2, but I had to come back the next day because their computer was already acting funny then and they could not access my DS260 online). However, I kept my passport with me for over a week to travel on business and gave it back to them on July 15 (if only I had suspected this problem!). So that's why it's now 15 days and counting. CEAC just updated the date but unfortunately not the status.

I can understand, I thought we would get a later date knowing our luck. We've been through this process since May 2013. We're going to use the contact form for London Embassy. The best way to contact them about your case. Wait until they receive your case though.

Thanks, that's useful info. I will definitely get on to scheduling my medical ASAP.

Can I just ask exactly HOW is the best way to request an earlier interview? Emailing the embassy? Phoning them? I see you succeed in doing this. How did you contact them?
