Today marks the 15th day since I left my passport at the US Embassy in Paris and no sign of any progress (CEAC web site status stuck on "ready"). The email replies from the Embassy to my inquiries are all about "apologies" and "exceptional circumstances". Will I go down in the Guiness Book of Record as holding the longest period between interview and visa issued?

Oh no! Somehow I really thought you received your visa already! Your interview was so early this month! Is it still at "ready" on the website?? This is unbelievable.

I feel for you, even though "We dodge the bullet" the expression my husband has used to describe how lucky we were, I come here almost everyday to see and help in what I can.

And I wish I could help on you guys getting your visas! (I feel survivors guilt)

I am really happy you received your visa sandraperry, honestly! No survivors guilt allowed here!! I have this thread open on my smartphone and I am reading all the updates! It's nice to talk with people who understand what we went through and why I am now getting upset (family and friends are just like "don't worry, you'll receive it in a few days", yeah right because we can really trust them when they say they're "doing everything to fix the problem"...). I just checked the ceac status, it was updated today, still at "ready". Perhaps it was updated because I sent an email to the embassy...

No interview for us yet either.

I'm hoping because we are Sydney Consulate, that maybe we will be able to change interview date to sometime in August. Assuming we get a September interview date.

Although not sure we'd want to be in August with the visa issues happening now.

Hi.....New Delhi US embassy cancel interview appointments from 1 August to 7 August 2014 due to technical problem in passport d Visa system... :(

Today our status changed from Ready to Administrative Processing. How long usually until issued from this time?

Visa approved at interview on Sunday but Monday and Tuesday were holidays so today is technically the first real work day after interview in the country, if it helps.

I don't know what to do anymore. We have no clue when we will get our Visas. Like none at all. And it seems like no one is in a rush to fix this problem. So basically soon no one will be traveling into the US at all because they either don't have an Immigrant Visa or a non immigrant Visa. And then when they do issue them, it will be a bombardment of people trying to get flights....in the middle of summer. Genius. I freakin stalk CEAC hoping to see some change and nothing. The only thing that changes is the Status Date. Whoopeedooo... That helps.

There are people stuck all over the world because of this issue and yet it feels like nothing is being done to fix it. I'm so angry at this entire stupid process.

"The Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our visa system. We are operating at a significantly reduced capacity and will be until we clear the document backlog." The Embassy in Armenia posted this today. Let's hope it doesn't affect the scheduling process. :/

I don't even know what to tell you because I know nothing will make you feel better. The worst part is that if someone has to fly somewhere for a family emergency that is not within the European Union and is not obviously the U.S., they can't go because they keep your passport.

I thought about that too. I don't know if the system is trying to access his info. On their Facebook page they replied to people stating that they couldn't just stamp a Visa into the passport because the issue is actually getting the system to run that last background check on fingerprints and digital image. I feel like I should get a refund on all that money I dished out to try to do this all the legal way. At least some percentage back because I feel like "purchased" something and now there is a "recall" lol.

I really don't know why it is updating this often, I feel like the Paris embassy has totally stopped editing visas, until it's totally fixed. Hope we will hear smtg soon LifeOnHold! I keep checking the ceac website every 10 minutes, I can't focus on anything else. I didn't even think about the flight tickets. I wanted to take a last minute flight once I received the visa, now I wonder how expensive it's going to be... :-( I sent an email to the embassy but they didn't respond yet. I think they will send me a generic message apologizing. I kinda don't care at all about their apologies.

Speaking of which, the status just changed to today's date. But it still says "Ready." Today was the last day for his Visa to be issued so we could get it on time to go together. At this rate, we won't even spend our Anniversary together.
