OMG!!! i just read your blog….wow..you are a good writer….i specifically like the Case Complete story….wow..just wow…i was like that through USCIS paperwork, now with NVC i am going through the motions…

and I know exactly how people respond to is your significant other can come now…and all you say is --- just jumped through one more hoop and 10 more to go….

Best of luck for your interview…..are you going to go withy our husband? or is he going alone? I don't know much about the UK embassy procedure.

From what I've gathered on the DoS' Facebook posts, it's visa processing that's delayed now, with immigrant visas getting priority. I think originally all systems were affected, but maybe passport generation is back up and running? I think? This comment is just a big ole ramble now

Thank you so much!!

Back when we were waiting for our I-130 to get approved, we decided we were not going to spend our anniversary apart! So, I cashed in our British Airways reward miles and my credit card travel miles and we booked our anniversary/honeymoon in Prague! Aaaaand the icing on the cake is this will be 2 weeks after the interview so he'll be coming home with me!

But he's attending the interview alone. London is a piece of cake for interviews.

You are very welcome.

that was some lucky planning….woohoo..prague i have heard its beautiful...

Our anniversary is on October 16….so maybe i might get lucky and get my interview date in that month….one can hope.

I am little fortunate than most here..i get to go to USA every other weekend….though sometimes the pain of constantly leaving every other monday morning (like this morning) can get a little intense sometimes.

Thank you so much!!

Ok, I need some peace of mind bc I am prob freaking out over a small mistake ... I hope.

So when I registered hubby on the visa appointment website for the UK to register his appointment and where he wanted to pick up the documents, I entered in everything - except I forgot to put his middle name under "Given name." It won't allow me to change anything other than his passport number and contact details and shows these scary messages:

  • Once an appointment is scheduled, only passport and email address can be modified. If you need to modify additional fields, you must cancel this appointment. (?!?!?!)
  • Warning: The information entered below must match the applicant’s passport and DS-160 application. Any discrepancy will result in delays in the return of the applicant’s documents.

I called the US number for UK Immigrant Visas that was provided on that website, and some lady told me I can't change it, they can't change it, and to just take the printout to the interview and explain the mistake and hope everything will be ok. Lady, I don't want to hope anymore. I don't want to be freaking out over anything anymore.

Has anyone heard anything about someone making a mistake on this website before and the result after the interview? I've read stories about them messing shiz up on the US side when information in the system did not match exactly.

Yeah, I hope I was freaking out over nothing. Here is the website: EDITED: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-GB/iv

The Interview Instructions for the London Embassy is here: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/LND%20-%20London.pdf

The "Returning Your Documents section states, "If your application is successful, your documents will be returned to you via the Embassy’s contracted courier service. You should register for the courier service before you attend the visa interview."

Thanks to bdrew and urbangirluk for pointing that out for me!! :)

Question: Is there any way to track the progress of the physical green card (the initial issue)? I know when you apply for a replacement, or you renew your Green Card you can track it on USCIS's site. Just curious if there is any way to see if the card is "in process" or "ready".

Sukie in NY

Hi Sukie, Saylin mentioned this on a post:

"It may be possible to get a tracking number for the green card. Follow VJ member Darnell's advice:

'Call USCIS, get a human, ask for the TRACKING NUMBER on the green card. Yes, such a thing exists, and they will give it to you when asked. Then call USPS and inquire for status. In the end, if USPS sent it back to USCIS, you'll need to call USCIS again, talk with an ISO about 'returned mail pieces', go over your address again on the telephone, and ask to have all returned mail pieces sent back to you.''

Hope it helps!

They posted another Facebook post this evening. They say they're prioritizing immigrant and adoption cases. It sounds like they're running slow, though. Yay. -_-
